2. Unknown, Not much. - ml / ounces of fluid collected
3. 5w30 M1 EP - Type and grade of oil I'm using
4. 93 Octane - Octane and type of fuel I'm running.
5. Mixed Driving Styles
6. Mostly Oil collected
7. Mileage with CC - 2790 - Total Mileage - 3790

Just installed a Mishimoto cc yesterday. New truck less than 700 miles. Drove about 50 miles this mourning, drove like a grandma. To my surprise I found about 1/8 oz of gunk in the can. Was not expecting any accumulation yet.

I’d be curious if those with catch cans are noticing if your dip stick level is the same between oil changes.

IMO if you’re seeing an oil mixture in your can your bound to be seeing your level drop.

same would go for all of us then, because the oil in this system is theoretically burnt off in combustion otherwise. So if it goes through there it comes out of the oil supply.

The catch can collects an almost immeasurable amount of oil. It's mostly for the very fine particulates over time that would accumulate on the valves.

Also, like @Psykostevo said, the oil that passes through the PCV system is burned off anyway so everyone is losing that amount.

You get more blow by as the oil shears down to a thinner weight. You catch more when it's getting to be time to change the oil.

You lost me. Unless the catch can is full to the top and can't hold any more... it's always measurable.....

Almost immeasurable. A lot of what you catch is unburned fuel.

Thanks for the clarification.

So... wouldn't that unburned fuel have washed the back of the intake valves and helped in removal of some of the carbon deposits if the catch can wasn't in the system?

damn... 2500-2600 miles. I installed it before my trip to Ohio for Thanksgiving. Looks like I should check it a bit more often!

1.0 Number of miles since last dumped the catch can. 1st dump
2.0 ml / ounces of fluid collected (pour into a clear container and post up a photo). 2+ oz
3.0 Type and grade of oil I'm using. Shell Rotella gas truck 5W30 full synthetic
4.0 Octane and type of fuel I'm running. 93, Shell and Racetrack
5.0 Leadfoot or Grandma? Moderate, can't remember the last time I put it to the floor... It responds so well to just a little right pedal you don't have to!
6.0 Mostly Fuel, Mostly Oil or both. I'd say fuel.
7.0 Mileage with CC. 25-2600, Total Mileage 7750
8.0 Short trips, Highway or Both. Mostly highway cruising from TX to Ohio and back 70-80mph.

Thanks for posting this.

Sure looks like fuel for the most part. Fuel that would have helped to clean the back of the intake valves.
