Most of these have already been said, but I'll add to the voices:

Likes/Loves:
  • Drivetrain - I LOVE the engine/trans combo - It just amazes me with its capabilities
  • Size - The F-150 is too big - this is a nice size - perfect for me
  • Ride - The ride is great for me - there are a FEW occasions where it feels a little "bouncy" but VERY rarely. I like the fact it doesn't have a stiff suspension that throws you all over the place. For a daily driver it is a great ride, I think. Even long distances I find it to be VERY comfortable to drive.
  • Crew cab - this is my first crew cab and I really like having the full back seat - I've found it to be comfortable for normal adults to go long distances. It isn't the cavernous back seat of the F-150, but it works very well for me.
  • Mileage - if I can keep my foot out of it, the mileage isn't too bad
  • Adaptive cruise - I love the adaptive cruise
  • Auto high beams
  • Keyless entry/push button start - This is my first vehicle with this and I love never having to take my keys out of my pocket - unless I want to unlock the tailgate.

Wishlist:
  • 6' bed option with the crew cab - while this hasn't been as big of an issue as I thought it might be (partly due to the VERY deep bed), I still wish I had a 6' bed.
  • Cooled seats would have been nice on the top trim
  • A better back seat arrangement - again, while this has worked out better than I thought it would, it is still a less than stellar arrangement - no 60/40 split, no fold flat and limited storage under the seats.
  • Stock tires are good for one thing - MPG - but I've found them terrible for off road anything - traction is horrible in mud or snow. I know others have different experiences but that has been mine.
I'm at a little over 2 years into ownership with over 20,000 trouble free miles and I can honestly say this is my favorite vehicle I've ever owned. I've been VERY happy with my decision.

I drove a 94 Ranger for several years and used it as a commuter also. 2wd, 4 cyl, manual, power steering, A/c, power brakes and it was a truck with a bed liner. Great!

I'm 6'4" and I really couldn't stretch in the cab, as a matter of fact, it was a tad cramping in the leg department - sounds like a Tachole in a way.

Today's Ranger offers all the capability of a full size, including taking my hulking form in a more comfortable ride and it handles/parks like a sports car where the full size has to be all like "Speed" and just smash/crash other cars out of the parking lots:angel: kinda like the overly large person in the movie theatre;)

But mostly, it's fun and that counts for a lot in how you enjoy a vehicle...and gets the job done!

Your opinion could vary and this is all my very real "objective" POV

@yyyames we truly love our 2019 Ranger FX4 SuperCab. 17,000 trouble free miles, averaging about 27 mpg, we've hauled 1,200 lbs of lumber in the bed numerous times, towed with it and it's awesome. Check out the link in my signature to our build thread, more details there.

I wish this thing came with a bigger bed.
It does, it's a SuperCab. Why anybody would want to own a truck that a 4 x 8 sheet of plywood won't fit inside the bed without hanging out past the tailgate when it's down, is a mystery to me.

But... to each their own, different strokes for different folks.

If I was @yyyames, and wanted a SuperCrew, that I could still use to haul things in the bed.. I'd by an F-150.

If you haven’t done this already, mess with your lumbar support. I haven’t had this happen on this truck (because I actually know how to adjust it now) but on a previous vehicle I had terrible back aches until I realized that the lumbar support was fully pumped up.

I was looking for an F-150 and just in time discovered that I would have only 1/2" of clearance parking it in my garage with the door closed :frown:. Didn't want to park outside. Houses built in 1985 did not have garages designed for these big trucks. The Ford specs for the F-150 SuperCab length are: F-150 L = 231.9” = 19.325’ The Supercrews of course are even longer. Its hard to image a Truck almost as long as a two-story house o_O. My Ranger has just the right amount of clearance to comfortably walk in front of it and behind it when garaged. After the fact, super pleased that I got the Ranger instead :). Happy with the new (used) 265/70/17 K02 upgrade

I went to the Ranger as my previous '13 F-150 Crew had gotten to big for parking spaces
The only people who say the whole parking thing about half tuns are midsize owners lol. Our f150 is a 2015 and the bighorn a 2019 they're considerably larger in space and bed than the ranger which is my only struggle. I've never once felt I cannot park or a half tun truck. Actually when I first started driving a couple times but thats it. I think making your statement about a 3/4 is very valid though. If you have a garage that can only fit a midsize thats fair too but I see this whole parking lot thing all the time which I find really exaggerated.

Liking the Ranger more than expected, but do miss the Ram on occasion.
What do you miss about the ram? I think im cool with losing the cabin space but the bed idk. I wish the dealer would let me drive it for a couple days before buying!

What options does the FX4 have your looking at? Trim level? Pictures?
Here are some pics. It even had the windowsticker in the glovebox which was pretty rad. The only option it doesnt have that I wanted is the rear sliding window. Its also in the color I want. They offered me 38K on my trade which I bought for 34K and owe less they want just under 35 for this truck. I'm sure thats hiked up because of the market a bit but so is my trade...

I think you'll be happy with the Ranger for what you're looking to do with it. Let us know what you decide. Good luck!
Cheers will do! I might go for it. It looks like the previous owner of this one put some AT toyos on before trading it. They looked pretty new. I guess that solves the tire dilemma!

Now, for a few of the things I don't like...
1) one touch windows, integrated keypad, engine choice.

My dad constantly brags about how he got 23mpg on the highway with his F-150... Without the bed rack, my best trip was 26mpg, but most were more like 23mpg.
One touch windows is the only thing you pointed out that I would miss personally. All that extra crap tp me is just crap that will eventually break! Speaking of the keypad that is one major thing on the ranger I am looking at has on it and I HATE IT. I was looking online and could not get a definite answer if its removable or if there is a hole in the door. It looks like its just on there with double sided tape after watching some install videos though. Anyone know about this?

About the MPGs sorry other than the bed this is where this truck really lacks imo. Our 3.5 and our etorque hemi are both either the same or better city and just under highway by a couple of miles. Which says a lot because both of my trucks are larger, heavier, have larger engines, tow quite a but more and have better payload ratings. I have yet to see good information on the ranger MPG while towing. MPG wise I don't think its that much better than some of the 2015 fullsize.

The ranger does not offer all the the capability of a fullsize lol. The bed is a major downside. Also the parking thing is really exaggerated imo.

The keypad is stick-on and can be easily removed (wireless and no holes). Some owners have removed the cover and mounted them inside the fuel door.

I find the sliding rear window next to useless since it is manual.

Here in TX the older houses are :). how 70s home has a two car garage that can fit a long bed. Its an awesome house! I hear you on the parking and if I couldnt fit our trucks inside I wouldnt be debating this purchase honestly.

Yeah once I read its manual I didn't care as much. Awesome about the keypad. It's ulgy as sin.

Well, most of us used to drive full size trucks. And, it depends on where you live and work. If you’re in rural America or suburbs you’re right. But, I work in Atlanta and I can promise you parking a full size is a daily pain in the ass. Some underground parking garages are almost impossible in a full size. I drove full size trucks for 15 years, so I have experience with both. The Ranger is much better daily driver for my situation. YMMV.
