Can dealers do the spray in if the truck doesn't have it already, or is it just a factory option?
Generally the dealerships will be happy to sell you the liner, then outsource it to a shop nearby they have a rate agreement with. Both companies make some money off you and they are happy.

I'm unaware of any dealer that has ever had clear bra, tinting, paintless dent removal or bed lining done in-house. Also can't imagine a dealership gearing up and training staff to handle that work here in the PNW.

My local Ford dealer did mine last month and they did a fantastic job, super thick, all areas covered. They also did my F-150 a few years back and it turned out great. Sometimes the dealers pull thru.

Sound Ford in Renton does spray-in bedlining in-house. They own their own body shop, which has a dedicated bedliner bay.

It's unlikely those are the same business from a tax perspective. Interesting to know how large Ford of Renton is. They have quite the footprint, it looks like a few of their buildings serve the entire suite of dealerships owned by the same group.

Will have to ask a buddy who runs his own PDR company and has a few dealerships down there on contract.

I have the standard LineX spray-in. There are 2 extra threaded holes above the tie downs near the bulkhead. those were masked with screw plugs and can be used to either move the standard ones up or to add 2 extra ones higher on the bed. I will probably just move mine up for now. I think the upper set of holes are used when attaching the drop-in liner from the factory also.

I don't need the UV coating since I have a roll up cover.and rubber mat.
I tried moving one of my tie downs up to the pair of threaded holes. Couldn‘t. The hole spacing is different. Crazy. I’m installing round Eyelets into some of the other smaller 6 mm threaded holes.

I paid for a spray liner in my financing and the dealer sent me to lineX.

Are the extra holes the same threads as the tie down bolts ?
Hi RR,

Seems to be two sizes... 6mm x 1.00 and 8mm x 1.25....

Yes, exactly. I am having a Line-X liner installed next week, and bought both sizes of bolts and insertd them in all of the empty bolt holes so they don't get filled up with liner material. Is that proper, or should I have the Line-X installer fill the blt holes with someyhing else before spraying?

Hi Noo,

Should work, but I would suggest you leave the bolt head out away from the hole so the LineX can coat the bed inner wall and not leave a hex of uncoated area around each bolt hole.

Thanks. That's what I was wondering. I think I'll screw the bolts out several turns and mention them to the installer so he knows why they are there. If he has a better technique, we can discuss it.

There are also some empty bolt holes along both sides of the bed just behind the cab. They hold 8mm x 1.25 bolts. The ones near the tailgate hold 6mm x 1.00 bolts.

Just get some Golf Tees and tap them in. When done with Line-X or Rhino, pull them out and replace them with Stainless Steel 6mm and 8mm bolts. That way you have them there whenever you want to add anything like a tie down D ring.

Yep. Had my Line-X liner sprayed in last week. The installer removed the bolts I installed and used golf tees to protect the threads. So now I have the bolts if I ever need them for anything. The Line-X liner looks really nice.
