Took some time this weekend and color matched my tailgate emblem to the truck. I was wondering if anyone else has done this and was looking for some pictures. Metallic gray and bronze before and after.

I looked at your showcase. Great looking truck. What did you used on the XLT side badging? I assume the letters are DC one in vinyl.

I did them by hand. I think I may do the Ranger letters also.

Thank you. I actually took the whole assembly of the tailgate, broke it down into individual components and then sanded, painted, clear coated it. Put it back together with epoxy from my work.

I am thinking about doing color matching as a side hustle in my area. Ford just doesn't make an easy emblem to work with.

I didn’t want to mess with the camera, so I just pried the emblem off and applied the decal I bought off Ebay. They sell the backing plate/camera base on EBay for about $60.00.

The easiest way is of get you a body tool, if you look around the emblem you'll see a notch. Easily pry the emblem up and be careful not to break the tabs. Once you get that off th there are two screws that'll take the camera housing off. Then just uncouple the camera and your good to go.
