Suspension at 50k?

For that price I would question all the parts that they would be including for that shock and replacement. Don't get me wrong a lot of this is going to be labor intensive. But doesn't mean you should skimp out on shocks especially since many places like to do that

Thinking that I will do Bilstein 4600 on all 4 corners. I know I can do the rear and will look for a local shop to do the front and then get it all aligned.

66k on my oem fronts. They have been crap for a while. Just replace them with anything but oem. Ford dampening is horrible and really always has been.

I took my 2020 Ranger XLT, 50k, on-road only to get new tires. Up on the rack they showed me that both shoals and both struts show oil leakage. Then explained for $2k they can replace them all. Does that sound realistic? All 4 at 50k miles? $2k?

Dog don't pay $2k to replace shocks. It's a little more involved than a brake job, but not much more. You can buy premium shocks and install yourself for like half the cost.

Just finished installing the ford performance OME kit this weekend. Mine were at about 37k miles off-roading, street, and towing, and starting to show small signs of leaking. I got a labor quote from a CA ford dealer for $1000 to install fix kit and align.

Doing it myself wasn’t fun, but just rear shocks would be ok. Front are more trouble. Assembling the strut wouldn’t have been terrible, except rental spring compressors didn’t fit OME coils. Stock coil disassembly was fine if you’re careful.

Also, if you do fronts and remove the lower control arm, make sure you have all the right deep sockets, 200+ ft lb torque wrench, and ratchet straps and extra jack. Using the jacks and straps really allowed me to line up the lca without fighting it too much to replace bolt.

I put 97K miles on stocks, very little off-road, so they weren't too horrible. But WHAT a DIFFERENCE Bilstein 5100's made!! Yes, like a few above did the rears myself had a suspension specialist in Modesto install the fronts and align. Went with about an inch higher ride height in front. So much better! Almost luxury car like in sport mode feel overall. Always liked the Bilsteins in my former sports coupes.
