I installed this module on my 2022 Ranger Lariat with LED factory brake lights. It works , but my cargo lights stayed on. Any ideas what I may have done wrong?

I HATE those things. Too bad you’re having a problem with it.

Flashing LEDs fully on and off wear them out extremely fast. Just an FYI. I bet you need a resistor inline somewhere.

so I’m curious why the LEDS will wear out faster
Honestly I have no idea. Ill look later if I remember. But its rapid switching that I heard was bad for them. Normal on off cycles are fine.

I’m confident after your google search you’ll find differently.

My guess would be the fast cycling affects the drivers not the led's themselves.

This, LED’s are used for emergency strobes pretty much exclusively today. Most industrial lasers are fiber LED now too. They pulse like crazy in the mhz ranges. So it would be garbage drivers that are reducing life of module.

Thats what I would assume because they are much more complex than a standard lightbulb and flipping those on and off can be bad for the filament.

At the same time those are strobe lights designed for that and the controllers are constantly receiving power. The strobe modules that people wire inline to the brake line effectively cycle power to the light controller. A drop in bulb that was made to strobe would be different because it would have constant power.

One look at emergency vehicles will confirm that LEDs makes the best light shows...
