I have a high pressure washer and fabricated a little reserve tub. My home pressure cannot keep up is the reason. My concern is how do i keep the water from bacteria or contamination while not in use? I thought about just adding a teaspoon of clorox to it, but scared it may effect the paint.

You could add chlorine to 1.5ppm free chlorine(not total chlorine) a couple of times per week to keep the algae down. I used to treat industrial water systems and this was the guideline we would give customers. I would use the water within an hour of adding the chlorine, but it will evaporate fairly quick after the dosing.

You can have other types of bacteria grow aside from algae that could be worse including legionella that could become airborne when in mist form (showers, and vehicle washing).

I appreciate the feedback from everyone.
Thank you for the help. The only thing I can readily get here is Clorox bleach, the plain not scented. They also have the clorox Bleach crystals non scented.

Chlorox bleach should be fine, just dont put to much in. The chlorine test strips for a pool are available at hardware stores, they will measure bleach and chlorine.

If I was still in the states it would be no problem, but Im in the Philippines right now. Things like test strips are not easy to find. I can order some though.
