Step Rail Lights

I've been considering doing something like this once I get my running boards installed (too cold right now). Either that or it'd also be nice to have some sort of light strip that helps for ingress and egress to see where you're putting your feet. Not a concern for you Lariat people with your fancy mirrors, but us XLT and XL people don't have that feature.

I am interested in how you did the wiring as well. I was thinking about installing some "puddle lights" to my XLT. Just need to find out which is the correct wire to tap into that will have the lights activate when i unlock the truck and then shut off when I get in and drive.

I got mine off amazon. Put them on a separate switch so I didn’t need to have them running all the time.

Hi Jeff,

Ordered! Thanks! May never find the Round TUIT to actually install but will have them on hand!

Where did you splice into the wiring for the lights?
