Start Stop Feature on the 2.3L Ecoboost

With Auto/Stop engaged, should the engine Stop while in Park? My 2019 Ranger does not but every other vehicle I've owned with A/S stopped while in Park. Odd...

It doesn't. Not sure why? I kinda wished it did when I at the ATM.

My simple practice is if ass shuts off the Eng. I use my judgement as to if I want it to keep doing it. If I decide I dont want it to do it again then I push the button. Otherwise I leave it alone. I am in total control. ?

Probably for safety along with the horn that sounds when you walk away while it’s running. I’ve read reports of people dying in their houses after their car was left “on” in the garage.

That’s the only good reason I would consider keeping it, except mine stays under a truck port.

I am still in the truck when I am in line at the ATM. Wishing it stops after you move forward, and stop again to wait.

Not just the ATM, but in the car line for bank window service. My bank still has the lobby closed. The truck just isn't meeting all the other criteria, and it may ASS once, but after that, it keeps running.

Question. I have had my Ranger since the end of Jan. Until this weekend, I had never noticed the auto stop/start kick in. All of a sudden this weekend after getting my windows tinted, the auto stop/start kicked in and it is working as I would expect. I am pretty sure it was never working until this weekend, I am sure I would have noticed in. I also never took any action to specifically disable it in the past and I always drive in standard D mode, never in S. Am I imagining things or have others experienced this?

I usually turn it off--or drive in Sport, which amounts to the same thing--but it really is pretty unobtrusive. Sometimes I accidentally leave it on and do not notice it at all until later in that same trip, meaning it has probably turned itself on and off several times without me noticing.

Ok, this makes sense. It had started to warm up a bit in my area this past weekend, so probably why it started to work.

Mine has worked well for the most part over our MN winter. When we got down to -0˚ or colder, then it won't shut off. "Low Temp" came on screen. Other time has been "Vehicle Charging", then I'd hook up the Ctek trickle charger to charge the battery.

Also the tow mode button automatically disables it.
