Looking for opinions from folks that use their truck beds quite a bit. I've never owned a truck with spray-in liner. It's always been plastic shells and I'm considering the same for the Ranger. I've beat the crap out of my bed shells as I've dragged things like truck axles, steel stock, concrete blocks, and boulders for landscaping.
I have a feeling that you'd be better off with a plastic drop-in bedliner; I have one in my current truck, and I use its bed the way you do, without issues - the slippery plastic actually helps push/pull heavy items across the bed. One caveat with a drop-in is that at times water (rain, backspray) would collect at the front of the bed, between bedliner and the steel bed, eventually corroding the bed (happened to another truck of mine), hence my decision to go with a spray-on with my upcoming Ranger acquisition. I'll just have to put some cardboard or something under that heavy engine/transmission/axle.

Have you used one of these before? I know they show gravel in the videos but it just seems like it wouldn't hold up. I do like the flap between the bed and tailgate though. They don't currently list one for a Ranger, though.
No I haven’t, but I had a new Tundra, and after seeing what a drop-in did to the bed paint after 8 years was astonishing and sad. I like the spray-in idea too, but the factory ones peel off easier, and the aftermarket ones, while more durable, you wouldn’t want to see what they do to your brand new truck to prep...scary.
The BedRug has a great guarantee, plus it’s comfortable to stand, kneel, and sit on...plus due to its density will muffle noise.

If I did it, I would leave it in - pulling it out for dirt or gravel would mean I'd have to scuff up the bed.

It is an intriguing idea - they do have a 30 day money back guarantee - I might have to take advantage of that and test it out (assuming they will make it for the new Ranger).
The one listed in Ford Accessories, is made by BedRug...but Ford charges

Ford Accessories has the “Sportliner” for $479...its made by BedRug, but priced a lot higher than BedRug will charge directly (probably $399). My plan is getting it somewhere other than Ford, when the time comes.

I put a bed rug in my 2011 super duty. It was great, I really liked it. One draw back. I hauled a wrecked motorcycle and it leaked all its synthetic oil all over the bed rug. Pressure wash, car wash, car wash sprayers, de greaser by the gallon, no matter how clean it looked, when it got hot in the summer that oil would come back to the surface. I finally just replaced it.
My plan with the Ranger will be Linex spray in and the bed rug mat on top of it.

I don't anticipate hauling a bunch of greasy stuff, but I am concerned about hauling gravel, dirt, barkdust, etc with the bedrug. It just doesn't seem like it would do well with that kind of stuff. I'd love to know someone who has done that and it held up well.

I love the look of it. I can't really justify doing BOTH a spray in bedliner (which I have on my current Ranger and has held up REALLY well), and a Bedrug. I will have to do one or the other. The Bedrug certainly looks better by far.

What's a ballpark price for a Line-X nowadays (from someone who hasn't driven a pickup for over 10+ years)???
My local line-x dealer quoted me $499 for standard inside the bed. Over the edges was $625.

They quoted me $550 but for the standard sprat at my local linex. They also sent pricing on the premium UV stable material for $700. Anyone have a take on this? I do park outside most of the time so am curious how the standard one holds up to sun and if the premium is worth the extra money. I live in CO where we get a lot of direct sunlight.

The premium seems to hold its sheen and black color a little better at our elevation. The standard Line-X loses it's sheen, and therefore doesn't look as black further down the road. Guess it depends on how shiny black brand new looking you want your bedliner to look inside the bed. The premium is great on something like an aftermarket replacement bumper where folks are going to see it all the time.

Did your bed include the 12V receptacle?
I don't see anything and the installer didn't say anything,

I do have a 110 3 prong outlet in the back of the center console in the backseat area.

I have an appointment at Line-X for the premium spray-in bedliner. I was quoted $658 + tax for under the rails spray. That seems to fit the average prices I’ve seen here.

I got a sample of the bedrug material and I took it outside and dumped a bunch of gravel on it then started trying to break it with a shovel. I couldn't. Then I simulated scraping across it with a shovel a bunch of times. I dumped off the gravel, hosed it off and as many have said, it looks as good as new. I think I'm going to go the bedrug route. I certainly like the look and the cushion (won't have to get a bed mat) and it is cheaper than a spray in liner. Only time will tell if I made a mistake. I figure worst case is I trash the bedrug eventually and I can do a spray in liner down the road. The bedrug should protect the bed very well.

I've been very happy with my LineX spray in liner on my current Ranger. It is 14 years old, and I have hauled countless loads of gravel, dirt, barkdust and firewood and it still looks really good. I do have a couple of dents in the bed however (wheel wells). I would say a spray in liner is the safe bet for sure. It is amazing how tough they are. The only thing I would change is to make sure they spray the part between the tailgate and the bed. When hauling rocks and dirt, they always get down in there and that part is rather scratched up (they didn't spray that area on mine)
