Finally got a chance to test some product on the fender of my Shadow Black Lariat. At least one panel of the truck does not look like absolute ?.

I would love to know what the original owner used to wash the truck, a rake? ?

Product Used:
•Adam’s Swirl Killer Pro 12mm Polisher(speed 3-4)
•3.5” Adam’s White Polishing Pads
•Adam’s Polish
•IPA Wipe-down
•Adam’s Ceramic Spray Coating(protection)

If you are new to polishing it’s not too bad once you get the hang of it.
•Use a dual action polisher (rotaries can burn paint very easy in the wrong hands)
•Work in 3x3 sections in a crosshatch pattern, two passes with 50% overlap is what I used; wipe away excess polish
•Wipe down panel with IPA solution,
•Ceramic coat to help prevent future damage!

Shine on! ???

Now I only have 13? More panels to go? ? It will get done eventually..Why did I buy a black truck? ?

Awesome Results!! I had one black car in my life....one! LOL
Around Easter my wife had a Black 2014 Toyota Corolla S, I told myself we will never own black vehicles again…

That weekend we traded it for a Black Mazda CX-5, and 4 months later I bought my Ranger.. ?

Maybe I can convince her for Christmas I need to invest in a DI Wash System. ?

Awesome work bud. Sure, it takes more effort. But once it's done, a clean and shiny black truck is a real head turner. Works well with the chrome, too!

It really is; this was my first experience with Ford paint and was pleased that I only had to use Adam’s least aggressive method.

Sure there are some random deeper scratches left, but I would say it looks 80%+ better. I am real liberal about correction work because many do not understand once you remove clear coat, it does not grow back.

An ounce of prevention (proper wash process) is worth a pound of cure.

Keep going. You'll be so happy when it is done.

Black IS tough to keep clean, but IMO, nothing shines like, or is reflective as black. :)

Outstanding job on your truck! Shadow black is the nicest black I've ever seen  Test drove an F-150 that color and it looked fantastic but glad now I opted for the Ranger. Owned another vehicle before that was black and liked it. In the search for the Ranger, I was looking for a Shadow Black / Lightning Blue / Saber and found the Saber on a Dealer pre-order...couldn't resist. Clay barred and waxed my truck in July for winter protection and fortunately met my expectations....posted avatar.

There is a black Ranger owner in my neighborhood and I'm hoping to catch the guy and get some pics of the trucks together. Saber and Black are great color matches :like:

Tackled the dreaded tailgate this evening..Got tired of seeing the scratches since my house faces the West. ?

It was pretty beat-up, so I did a two-step. Compound/Microfiber pad & Polish/Foam pad.

Looks great, a lot of effort though. I'm guessing he used 120 grit sandpaper to get all the dirt off the paint LMAO. And I said the same thing about black vehicles, but every time I go to a car lot I get selective amnesia lol.

Your guess is as good as mine; it’s the same amount of damage ALL OVER the truck.

I unfortunately will not be able to get it perfect due to how deep some of the remaining damaged is; but atleast it’s a good 70% improvement now.

I can tell the dealer did not touch it because there are no buffer trails(all over my wife’s car). I should’ve known when the salesman laughed about the truck not being detailed the original owner didn’t. ?

He must’ve washed with both sandpaper and a pay&spray dirty brush. ?
