Is there a trick or method to get the straps through the middle of the seat? Not sure if it's the same or not, but on my XL, there's no visible path going through the split of the upper and lower part.As Da Rodent said, Wet Okoles are my covers of choice, hands down, but they are pricey.
Here's interior shots of my '00 Ranger which had them on the front seats for 20 years and a new set installed on my 2020 Lariat.

If you are referring to the single strap which runs left to right, I removed the outer plastic shield held on by 2 torx head screws and clips to gain access to the metal seat frame. These 2 screws are at the forward and trailing ends of the shield. Is there a trick or method to get the straps through the middle of the seat? I'll give it a shot this wknd. In this frame you'll see a cutout which, it seems, Ford purposely put there just for this purpose.
The inner frame also has a cutout, but it is up to you if want to fish it through there.
Once I had all 3 straps secure, I rolled up the excessive strap material onto itself and zip tied them, but I am OCD when it comes to these sort of things.
Hope this helps, post some pics when you are finished bud.
The Wetokole seat covers are airbag friendly. Are there air bag capable covers?
