I may have found a way to seal the tailgate openings against dust/water....long but follow ....
Those of you fimilar with RV's with slideouts know the openings have bulb seals and wipers made from rubber, and usually have a very strong double sided adhesive tape.
I had some of both on hand from doing repairs to my RV over the years.
The photos show the wiper seals on the passenger side, while I left the drivers side stock so you could see the difference.
Also had a length of bulb type gasket that just happened to snap over the "T" on the top of the bumper plastic.
I don't know how well this will work as my Ranger hasen't really seen any dust and its kept garaged.
I'll get the ### of the seals/wipers tomorrow if anyone is interested, BUT, be aware that this stuff ain't cheap.

Great idea for the sides. They do make a seal for the tailgate bottom-gap-to truck. It is on Amazon. I may order it....would be curious how good it sticks to the bedliner.

I had some of the bulb type seal that goes with the wiper seal. There is an "H" groove in the seal that just happens to snap over the top edge of the plastic bumper that sticks up between the bed and bumper. It has a "T" edge to it, and the bulb seal just snapped over it...just lucky. The bulb seal and wiper seal work together on the rv slide out to keep water out. One pic shows the bulb seal on the plastic edge, and when I close the tailgate, the bottom of the tailgate does compress the seal.
My spray in liner is still clean, but I wiped down the area with some alcohol. Double sided tape on the rubber wiper is very strong....some of it has been on my RV for 7-8 years and is still holding tight.
Seems to adhere to the liner spray just fine, but again I just put it on and only time will tell.
I will post some photos of the bulb and wiper seal tomorrow so you can see how they correspond to each other, and how I applied them.

I bought this stuff on Amazon back in 2014...still there. but only sold in large rolls, no short lengths.
The wiper is AP Products 018-341, the bulb seal is AP Products 018-312.
If there is an RV Parts dealer in your area they might carry similar by the foot.
Pic's of it tomorrow.

I'm interested. I started this thread: https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/australian-members-do-you-have-ideas-for-gate-seals.13594/

Can you provide info on the products you're using? Perhaps we could use this ESI rockbloc to do something similar. I bought this, then returned it, but wasn't thinking outside the box.... or the blox.

Tom, I posted the part ### just before your post.
I do have a partial roll left of the wiper that is on the sides. I'll measure tomorrow how much I have left, and I may be able to part it out to several of you. You'll need just under 4 feet to do both sides...let me see how much I have left, minus enough for me to re-do mine if needed.

Few more photo's to show how it orients to the side of the bed.
Just throwing out some ideas of what's out there as far as weather striping and seals. This is stuff I had on hand and it seems to work, but only time will tell.

Dave doesn't know it, but I am heading to AZ soon, and I will stop by and apply my own bed deal for him at no charge.
All I ask is that he thoroughly tests it and gives his 100% honest opinion on how well it works.

I know once Dave gives it his blessing, everyone will want to follow suit. And that just means new business for my fledgling new company called Squirters.

Its based out of western Canada and I will be able to dispatch technicians on a moments notice to carry out the install, and any future warranty repairs.

Its a special formula closely guarded by my scientists on the payroll and guaranteed to cause cancer in CA. Therefore, I package it in a common package that wont arouse the suspicions of those health conscious Californians. Also works well for the typical mouse and rat entrances under the hood.

I don't trust RP I think this is a set up. After that teapot picture and now his new company name I'm guessing that Ron Jeremie is going to show up at my door. ?

interesting fact since you brought it up....the only time I ever encountered a celebrity while flying was on a trip in Alberta....The one and only Ron Jeremy was on the flight doing some strip club porn star tour.
Cult following he had, even the pilots came out to meet him (this was before 9/11 and the Fort Knox flight deck procedures)
In true RJ fashion, he was in a matching track suit , stretched out white t-shirt and greasy hair.
Funny because he's always had a cult following for some reason. Out of all the porn stars in the world RJ (the hedgehog) would be the last one I'd want to meet. lol
