Screeching Sound After Cold Start Up - Any Ideas?

Hi Everyone. I have a 23MY Ranger 3K Miles on it. I have had an odd sound the past week or so on the cold start up in the morning. The engine fires up but then about 25 seconds in I hear this screech sound, it goes away then comes up again in 15 seconds if I haven't went into gear. Once I do, (R) it goes away. Any ideas what might be causing this? Thanks!

I believe that, mine makes a similar sound when I try to push her off the bed.

Since you're from Australia, I'll ask for clarification; Is this an actual feline cat or is this a term for ones girlfirend/wife?

Hopefully she doesn't read this (not the cat - she is illiterate) or else the next post on here will be from her, informing you of my obituary.

I should clarify, my wife is quite a tall woman (~6 feet) and manages to lie diagonally across our bed in a way which makes it extremely difficult to get in, and the cat seems to both occupy, and vigorously defend, the small remaining space available to me.

Short chirping more than drawn out screech (maybe 1-2 sec tops) then goes away for 10 sec then comes back.

Probably the wastegate actuator arm. Those are known to squeek when cold.
