Quickly threw this together. Printed in TPU, and it sandwiches between the bracket and your wheel.

I've got a full size spare, and didn't want to scratch the shit out of the underside of my wheel. Hope someone else can get some use from it! I bet there are other ford trucks with similar mounts, so likely would work for them also.

Can you access the tire valve mounted like that? I purposely flipped my spare over so I could keep tabs on the tire pressure easier.

Depends on the wheels on these wheels it is accessible, but the pad doesn’t impact that.
I’d prefer my wheel points up, protecting the outer face, reduced chain length.

I also have my full-size spare with matching sport wheel shiny side up with the valve stem pointed towards the rear-right corner. Easy to reach up and over with a gauge.

Yes that's exactly what I do too for the same reason. I might print up one of those pads though, I like that idea. Sadly the only TPU I currently have is a small roll of flesh pink. Don't ask what I last used it for - no NOT that. I guess no one other than me will see it under there anyway.

I bought a matching wheel for my spare and the morons at Discount Tire put it up with the good surface down and the metal tab against the paint and not in the lug nut hole. GRRRRRR! From now on, the spare will be in the bed, the crank access hole locked and the tool in my garage.

Sheesh! I hope they replaced it.

it’s a bad design by ford to be fair, but I hope this piece of rubber helps protect it.

Unbelievable! No not really, I personally think that the whole world has lost about an average of 50 IQ points in the last 20 years. What did they think the tab was for?? Duh!
The only problem I've found in having the shiny side up is that it does collect dirt and rocks if you drive on dirt roads. But a least the same rocks don't hit it. And of course checking the pressure is a bit of a yoga pose.

I like that as I just ordered a Tremor rim for a spare but don't have the ability to print or make those myself? Are you selling them? Thanks,

Agreed. Brains or actually caring? I got a cheap Amazon Jeep tire cover over it. I hope that helps with the debris.

I'm not, sorry! Your local library or maker space likely has a printer they could rent/loan you though.

When i took my steelie spare down most of the dirt/debris was on the topside of the rim, so I'd think a cover would catch dirt.

I do off road it a fair bit, to be fair.

Mine too but I blame gravity for that. :) The cover was cheap ($14) and it will be a good test. I suspect most of the bigger stuff came over the top. Small center hole vs most of the 30" circumference being exposed. Covers do not keep dust and water out, based on my experience with my first Jeep. I will know about the rocks next tire rotation.
