It’s torn the bush out the top rubber mount - is this repairable or must it be replaced ?

Looks like it will need to be replaced. I believe those rubber bushings are molded on to the metal insert. Did this happen under normal driving, or did you bottom out your shocks?

No really bottoming out that I can recall. I upgraded the coils about 12 months ago to Tough Dog, looking at the shaft out there it sort of feels like this was a gradual process,

I didn't see your location as being in Zambia. And I didn't realize that Rangers there have coil springs on the rear. Did the new coil springs change the height of the rear? If changes in the rear lower the rear, you will probably need shorter shocks/struts.
