RCS Messaging

I just realized that when I receive a RCS message I do not get a notification on Sync 3.4 in my Ranger. Is there a fix for this or do I have to revert my phone to SMS only?

I do not think that Sync 3.4 is set up for RCS , I am not sure if a future update will integrate it.

I believe for it to work - Android Auto or Apple Car Play must be active as this is a phone function (carrier)

I seldom use Android Auto, the thought of pulling my phone out of my pocket and plugging it in everytime I get in the car is less appealing than not knowing about a text until the next time I look at my phone. I suppose I will have to decide whether I get a wireless adapter or set my phone for SMS only. Most of the RCS features are not important to me but I do like getting/sending high resolution photos.

I debated spending the money on AAWireless as well, but it has been pretty solid. It is very convenient. Although it wouldn't work this morning for some reason.

Throw the entire system in the trash where it belongs. I hated Sync. Too unreliable.

Overall I find Sync to be very reliable and trouble free, certainly not worth the trouble or time to replace the entire system to get compatibility with RCS formated texts messages.

FWIW, I consider texting to be a low priority means of communication so this minor issue of Sync not being compatible with RCS formated texts is not that important. I thought if there was a way to configure Sync to recognize those texts I would.

I just couldn't get past my hatred of Sync. It was horribly unstable. And ugly. I like having the ability to customize my environment.

The issue I have is if the text message is RCS formatted Sync doesn't even notify me I have a text. It isn't until I take my phone out of my pocket the next time that I even know I got a text.
