Even at these proportions I think they will sell a ton of them.

That is about the size that many still long for, almost last gen Ranger size.

If Ford keeps the price competitive they will sell tons of them.

And if they put the 2.0 Ecoboost in them, it will be mighty quick.

the maverick has a bigger rear sliding window? that's it. I'm trading up
Ford obviously thinks that I don't need to pass anything through the rear window larger than a postage stamp.

That rear window makes it a challenge to toss empty beer cans into the bed while driving.

Ah the good old days of driving around the back roads with a cooler beer and throwing empties out the slider into the bed.

I wonder how the new Maverick compares to the old Ford Courier

The maverick would be better for what I do....especially if it's cheaper an gets better MPG's. If the MPG's are where a crossover SUV is they will sell since gas is creeping back up. I like the look an off road ability of the ranger even if I don't do any real off roading.

Holy smokes it's so small and adorable! ?

Kidding aside, man it really is small compared to the Ranger! I still kind of like it though, looking forward to actually seeing it without the camouflage.

Looks to have same dimension bed with but higher sides, about half the ground clearance, bit larger cabin (non-tapered) with better leg room for rear passengers and bit shorter for the front. I'd say excellent choice for those who do not leave asphalt. Prolly 2WD and lower tonnage & haul.

It will be interesting to see if they use the AWD system that is in the Escape or the 4WD system in the Bronco Sport. I can definitely see the Maverick filling a need for people that need or want a small truck.
