First let me say, I loved you in The Orville.

Second, that no one in sales cares about a quarter, outside getting a higher bonus. The year end numbers is the true tale of the tape. The Ridgeline is down YOY. With a new Ranger coming and the other refreshed mid-size trucks (or pending), the success of the Maverick.. Honda is behind the 8-ball. Where the Ridgeline is, is their segment to lose, and they are losing ground.

That’s the real issue. His party life is totally shot and he’s in bed by 9:30. The same as when he was a kid! ?
Easy. That describes more than a few of us?

Depends on what type of sales, I worked in tech sales and you were measured on monthly quotas, quarterly and annually, you can make some healthy $$ but have to deal with pressure - relentless and never ending, knew some Cisco sales rep and they had weekly measurements, a lot of that came into play with tracking SW like salesforce.com , if you worked for a large or even mid sized company the time spent keeping saleforce updated was considerable, not many sales reps I knew could work a 40 hour workweek, some were doing 60+ hrs but if you worked for the right company it can be lucrative.

I know that I'll be chasing a number for at least another 15 years. Sometimes, you have to remember that you can't get blood from a stone, no matter how much you squeeze. It is what it is. If you can realize that, it can keep you sane.

Soldier on and hope you have a gig that rewards you for the efforts and putting up with all the bs and underhanded crap that goes on - understandably when big $$ are involved , last 10 yrs of my sales career were with company ownership of a reseller firm and my stress level dropped immeasurably, but some folks thrive in high pressure politically charged environments.

Also posted this all time classic before but never get tired of watching it, saw baldwin do the skit on snl last week where he dresses down the elfs like in glengarry glen ross. I had a lot of laughs in sales, especially sometimes at the expense of incompetent mgrs, had the VP of sales demand I get a meeting with a big customer of mine, he said I wasn't selling them nearly enough, my customer mostly listened to the VPs spiel and answered his questions, very one sided then my customer said his turn, he speaks of what I great job I was doing and then tells the VP never to come near him again or he wouldn't make another purchase, just dismantles the VP, I could barely keep from laughing outloud as I drove the VP back to the office.

Coffee is for closers, is very popular at work, along with Always Be Cobbling.

I’m wondering how much Maverick sales ate into the Ranger market? Also wondering if the same will happen to Tacos, GM twins and others if they introduce a Maverick sized truck.

Supposedly RAM is working on a new Dakota to put back into the Mid-Size Class. Now rumor has been floating that RAM is working on what is dubbed a "Baby Dakota" similar what's sold just south of the Border which is a small unibody pickup of it's own. Usually when something is rumored at Chrysler chances are fairly good it's going to come out. So don't be surprised if it hits the market end of next year for 2025.

I don't think it did really.. if you consider cost as a larger factor, I think Ford picked up sales. This was made for the family that couldn't afford or need the Ranger, but could use a pick-up more than a small car or SUV. Considering the state of inflation and energy prices, Ford rolled those dice well. The Maverick couldn't have hit the market at a better time.

I don't see it. A Dakota "life-style" truck has been talked about for NA, for close to seven years or more. Where is it? If all the compact pick-ups hit the market as claimed, someone's going to get overexposed. My money would be on the Chrysler group. Lee Iacocca is dead.

The same thing was continuously said about the Grand Wagoneer as it was supposed to be launched by 2018 latest. Based originally off the WK2 platform so it would share most with Grand Cherokee and Durango which was supposed to be it's replacement. Well it went through several redesigns a new platform base off RAM 1500 making it Body in Frame. The mules didn't show up until after the debut in 2021. So usually when something is rumored it happens. Need I talk about the Hornet, the Dart people seriously thought the Cherokee coming back was a joke also. So like I said when there's a rumor, it's likely to be true. Who the hell thought the Hornet would be back as a hybrid CUV?
