Quick Question - Factory Order Timing

How long is it currently taking for a factory order to be built.
I'm placing my order this Friday.
Dealership says 6-8 weeks. I'm betting more like 8-10 weeks.
Ideally I would love to see it arrive on April 6th (My Birthday)

I ordered mine on 12/17/2019 and it is scheduled to be built the week of 2/24/2020. But, I think the factory shut down for two weeks during the holidays which has slowed it down.

So minus the Holiday break it looks like about 8 weeks

I ordered mine the third week of October, it was built January 23, and I picked it up February 5.

If you want to manage your expectations, I'd say 10-12 weeks knowing if you are lucky it might be sooner. I highly doubt you would get your truck in 6-8 weeks, especially being in California. You will have 2-3 weeks of transportation after it is built probably. I ordered mine 12/23/2018 and picked it up 4/14/2019 - just less than 4 months, but that was when they were still ramping up production.

It should go well, for you. Your'e ordering well before 2020 year build out, when parts shortages can wreak havoc on end of run builds. Allocation is always a crapshoot, but hopefully yours gets to you closer to 8 weeks rather than 12.

Ordered Jan 3 and was told, built on Feb 11. Probably have it here first week Mar.
So about 8 - 10 weeks.

I suspect it will affect supplies locally as well as abroad, the proverbial domino effect

My VIN became available a couple of days before the scheduled assembly date, 11/23 and 11/25 respectively, once your window sticker is generated you'll be able to see it's scheduled "blend" (production) date.
Post that here once you have it and any member can help you decipher the actual production date.
Be aware of delays as motorpsycology had noted, I was fortunate enough not to experience these, despite the fact that Michigan Assembly located in Wayne, MI was tooling for 2020 production.
Become a total pest of yourself with your dealership as to the exact location of your truck once it's been loaded onto a railcar from Michigan assembly to your location in LA. Ford's tracking site will simply state that the vehicle is in transit, your dealer is privy to more detailed 411.
My 2020 was loaded onto a railcar on 11/26 and arrived at San Diego's piers on 12/20, ultimately I waited 2 days shy of a 5 month long "ordeal" for my truck to be delivered, it was totally worth the wait.
