I have a truck coming in 2 weeks. The last time I looked the cash back incentive was $750. Now I see it is $1750, but I notice it says that it "May require Ford Credit Financing." Does anyone know if it does? The below website is offering a terrible 7.9%. Our Credit Union is offering 2.29 over 5 or 6 years.

If I remember right there were 3 different rates with Ford financial. To get the largest discount wasn’t worth the end payout. Credit Union rates are your best bet. No penalty on lump payoffs ether. That can save you more if you can swing it.

When I bought my '21 Lariat in January, I received the (then current) $1250 rebate without using Ford financing. The Ford financing offers were not good.

Yeah, every offer I have ever dealt with on a vehicle has been either take the Ford financing deal OR the cash back.

Another question. I was looking at some window stickers of trucks on the lot at the dealer now. He has a 2021 XLT with an "XLT MID Discount" on the window sticker. What is that? See below...

Got my XLT last week for $34,000 after 2 rebates. One $750 and one $1250. Here’s the sticker:

The $1750 started on Feb 16. What were the 2 you got for? I know they currently will add $750 to the regular cash back if the truck has been sitting on the dealer lot for longer than 60 days.

They upped that on 2/16 - 3/31 to $1250 for lariat and 1750 for XLT and still have the 750 for the 61 day cars

Are they no longer offering 0%?

I got mine last year for 0% 84 months with 3 months deferred. No cash back tho.

No - that was a Pandemic special

If you can hold out - and qualify for when Ford has to move some inventory the 0% interest (they 'hold their own paper') is awesome. I got my Lariat in September 2019 with cash incentives and the dealer even came off of list.

I'm surprised Ford doesn't offer me a discount off my balance if I pay it off now in full, but I'm better off paying it from an interest earning account.

Rebates are area specific so while someone in the n'east might be getting $750 cash back they might not have that same rebate in the s'east.

As far as financing goes Fords rates are not good right now which is probably due to Covid and they had to give out longer 0% terms (84 months) last spring to move inventory. When I bought mine in Just of '19 they had a few rebates and one tied to financing. You could either get 0% for 60 months or 1.9% for 72 months with a $500 rebate. I took the 0% because I didn't finance much and I could make more money with my investments. Also even losing the $500 rebate I'm still ahead because the interest was around $1,100 so I'm still ahead $600. Like @Trigganometry said Credit Unions are your best bet as they usually have much better rates. If things don't change next year when I get my Bronco I'll be using Navy Federal CU. Right now their 60 month is 2.19% and their 72 month is 2.29%.

It also depends on your credit too, I had a guy push me to do that 0%/84 BS instead of getting nearly 4k off with their pandemic deals/offers and was like oh but your APR would prolly be around 7...until he ran my credit and was like oh well they’ll give you 1.9% at 60

I have one that I ordered. It's built and awaiting shipment. I do have an X-Plan number which they provide to shareholders.

Back when Ford had all the shutdown related deals I still have a truck, a 2008 Ranger, which my son drove into some trees after falling asleep. She had 215K miles or so on her. Ran well, but I had started to rent trucks for my annual fishing trip in NW Pa just to be on the safe side. New truck will be nice, but I had hoped to stay at one car payment a few more years. Nothing beats an old truck that you don't care gets scratched up, dented, etc.

That is who we use for our financing. Makes everything so easy. Arrive with the check and most times, dealerships don't even try to compete with them.
