anybody tried 5-6 quarts?
reason is,it says in the manual if it’s between the add and full mark it’s safe!

i just dump in six, including priming the filter, drive it around the block and add a splash for the .2. then i clean up my oil change mess and wash up my hands put away tools etc. and then check the dipstick. normally enough time has gone by for it to settle.

well just for example,i Putin 5 1/2 quarts,it’s in the safe zone, correct?reason why I’m asking this, the last time I changed the oil,I just put in 6 quarts with the filter, checked after running a couple of minutes,it was right on the top hash mark, then after 2000 miles it was right at the top hole which is the max.
I just figured maybe 5 1/2 quarts would be better
ive done the Blackstone oil samples, just a trace of fuel reported

i would not worry over it. maybe that the oil didnt all go back to the pan and dipstick was reading high. could be a bit of gas in the oil. pretty normal on a direct injection engine.

Any old timer will tell you that when draining, you will never get "all" the oil out. There will always be some, how much depends on design of the engine, left in the passages, high and low areas of the block, bottom film in pan, ect.
As others have posted, I dump 6 qts, including priming the filter, in and call it a day. Check it every 2 weeks or so, and mine is still good from change to change.

I just checked mine this morning after sitting all night. It has about 3,800 miles on it since the last oil change and my mark is right about where yours is. And no fuel smell either. ?
