I had went and purchased a Putco LED light bar for the tailgate on my 2021 Ranger Tremor with the plug-n-play connect for a good amount of money. I had installed it as soon as I have received it, the installation was pretty easy used the contact grease to keep the moisture from getting in to the connections. Then after two weeks the passenger side blinker went out all I get is the fast blinking when I turn on my right turn signal that’s how I had figured out that the light bar went bad.
I had reach out to Putco about the light bar not working correctly. They have responded back that they where aware of the situation and that they have there engineers working on solving the issue. I had kept in touch with them for some time and being patient.
So I just reached out to them now that it’s been more than a month and haven’t received any updates on their progress with solving the issue.
I had gotten a reply back today with this information;

“There is a wire looped into the black box on the blade for you it will either be red or blue, cut that and run it to the battery's power.”

I kinda lost it with them on how they handle their support on the product that they sale. I was just wondering if anyone else had this issue with the Putco LED Light bar for their Ranger.

Unhappy Putco customer.

I was going to get onebut it appears to me that clearance to tailgate whem open is not adequate. My bumper cover bends closer to the tailgate at the otter ends. I would like to see one installed on a Ranger to see for myself the clearance.

Retired, work is a four letter word.
And they didn't supply a diagram? So cut the looped wire (I assume from one pin to another) and run to B+. which end?, and always on or switched B+?. That is some low level support their sending out. How long have they been aware of the issue and why did they sell it with out updated instructions? Lots of questions.....

Wow. Disappointing. Unfortunately, I’d be looking into return options.

I would assume they are LED, B+ Just short for Battery positive. He did say he was told to run the cut looped to a hot wire.

Just joking, I’m old school and use B+ all the times

I had written back and let them know that their reply wasn’t good enough for what type of company they are and this is what they finally came back with;

“The image below is the wire you will need to cut and attach directly to the battery's power (in the engine bay)”

I had installed the light bar on the bumper cover and it did have just the right clearance, I had thought the same. Even read hear on the 5G forum that someone had cut the bumper cover out.

In my opinion this is unacceptable for something this expensive from them. To have something they are selling as "plug and play" then have to modify to make it work. I'll pass.
