Had a different problem where they said no codes came up .. Then on second visit they found a loose ground wire which would make the problem come and go . Fixed wire and no more trouble .
Can you advise the location of the ground wire in question?

My collision alert has gone offline twice in a month and each time my transmission also shudders and stumbles , both times the next morning the light had gone out and the transmission was shifting normal. Dealer saw it once & couldn't locate a specific code so ford told them to reset everything and see how it goes. Did it again(2nd time) yesterday. Each time I had driven the truck for errands , parked it for an hour or so and the wrench alert and "collision avoidance inactive" alert came on and as soon as I put the truck into drive the shuddering between gears at 35 to 40 and when letting off the gas. Didn't matter if I was in D or sport mode.

Wondering if it's a ground or a module issue. Dry warm weather each time.

This is the exact same issue my truck has recently been at the dealer for. Are you stock? Or do you have any tunes? I had a Roush tune and CAI.

The truck would present with several codes:
  • PCM
    • P061B - Internal Control Module Torque Calculation Performance
  • OBDII
    • P061B - Internal Control Module Torque Calculation Performance
  • BdyCM
    • B115E - Camera Module
  • IPMA
    • C1001 - Vision Camera System (Component or System Operation Obstructed or Blocked)
    • U0401 - Invalid Data Received from ECM/PCM A

I have the Roush tune and Cold air kit. So the loose ground fixed it?

No, they didn't find anything like that. My dealer believes it's the fault of the Roush tune. They're working with Roush to try and figure it out. For the moment they put my truck back to its factory tune (at least they said they did).

When they talked to Roush, supposedly Roush said, "This isn't the first time we've seen this."

But you're the third or fourth person on this forum I've found have the same issue occur with the Roush tune. My dealer sold the truck with the Roush tune and CAI already on it. So I think I'm going to tell them I want the tune gone and I want the money back for it, or put the Ford Performance tune on instead.

This was for doors ajar problem which also kept trans locked in park . Wire was under passenger seat . However I thought maybe sensor wire was loose or not properly grounded . Of course like mine yours must be a rare problem .

@Fawnbuster

Mike, did you ever get any resolution from your dealer on your issues with the Roush tune?

Just thought I would check. My dealer ended up flashing my truck back to stock because they couldn't get an answer out of Roush. I've emailed Roush and asked them to either figure it out or refund the performance pac. It hasn't worked right since I got the truck.

That stinks. I was told that the dealer who installed it can contact roush and obtain a new flash code to see if that fixes.the issue.

Yeah. At this point I'm not sure I even want the tune anymore. I'm hoping I can get them to refund it all and I'll buy the Fox suspension from them instead. :p

Not sure if they'll be able to help, but if Roush continues to give me the end run-around I'll get Ford Customer Care involved.

This is old thread but I have yet to see red leds or brake assist work. I have an stx so this is the only option..when started red let's on dash go thru test cycle and triple checked all is turned on. Twice it's shut off for snow on winshield..windshield.. have many times tried to get it to go off with no availability. Side not I have an ignition breathalyzer interlock installed and am wondering if shop screwed something up when splicing in to start circuit??

Hey, my belt tensioner snapped off a couple days ago. Interested in what happened with yours, and whether or not it was covered under warranty?

Here's my thread...

It was a couple years ago, maybe a few years ago so I don’t remember for sure. But I do believe it was covered by warranty. Just took a while to get the part. Ever since then no problem….still have the truck. It’s running well.

The sensors in your bumper are the Parking Asist sensors. This only work when you are traveling like less the 5 mph and will beep faster the closer until it it is a steady beep. A truck will show up on your center screen with with colored bars on either the front or back of the truck, they change color until they change to red. This means you are about 1 to 1.5 ft from the object. If these are obscured by mud or snow/ice they will trigger the warning as you slow down at a stop light and go away once you get above 5 mph again. Happen a lot in winter.

The pre-collision alert uses the ceta by the rear view mirror. It also uses the radar sensor in the lower grille if you have Adaptive Cruise Control. This warning comes up in the small center display of your dash, turns red and a steady squeal. If either of these sensors are obscured the system will be disabled and a notice will appear in the dash display. I believe this system is only active over 40 or 45 mph, hence the delayed notification.

Two different systems
Yeah you are correct, though I think the speeds for the pre collision are slower like 20 mph but don't quote me on that. They are as you put separate systems and should never activate at the same time. Car wash parking sensors should definitely go off but not the pre collision.
