I went overkill and got this for about $120. Jumped twice from a completely dead battery with plenty of juice left over.

I have the Audew 2000 Amp, works great (used a few times) on other vehicles - No Issues
Stays Charged for long periods- Ironically pulled it out to check it today, has not been touched since spring (last used) and still holding 99% charge. Topped it off for winter (arrival)
The only drawback of the Audew is it has short cables

I looked on Amazon...Seems China based. I now avoid all products from China now on Amazon.

I'm assuming a 1000 amp jump starter is adequate for a Ranger or should I go up to 1500amp or higher?

This is what I was looking at: The Noco GB40. Thanks.

This NOCO is really good and more than ample for pretty much any use.

I have two Gooloos (4000A & GT4000S) and I put the first one through the ringer a few times. I used it to crank my old FJ40 on two occasions. The first was probably about 10 second cranks - it got the little jumper wires pretty darn hot. But it still showed about 50% charge. The second time was 6 cranks of about the same and maybe a few seconds longer.

Personally, I think the NOCO is probably a higher quality unit - I have nothing to back that up but it's the brand of battery tender Ford sells.

I aim to charge them once a month but it's more like every 2 or 3 months - they always show to be close to 100%.

I imagine they all do this, but if you're in a colder climate, you might double check to see if it self-warms as cold can really decrease their output.

And it seems NOCO is a US based company, although their products are manufactured oversees. At least I can know I'm giving a US company my business.

Wish I knew that before I bought it. I usually do the same. Guess I'll be buying something else when that one goes.

It seems everything on Amazon is now either sold or manufactured in China.

I'm with you on most things.

I use an arbor press for our game business. I could have bought one for about $40 from Harbir Freight but really wanted US-made since we pride ourselves on US sourcing.

I got one made in Grand Haven Michigan for $398!

Ten times more but I've pressed more than 10,000 tins on it and it's still as tight as a drum.

I got the Gooloo also and so far it has worked good when needed. Under $100 and came with a custom fitted hard case plus charger. All batteries used in any of them and most electronics come from China anyway. Gooloo is supposed to use EV grade batteries. They have a heated one for cold climates also. The relay is the weak part of all the Chinese models. If you want the best go with Noco. Project Farm has a good video comparing them all.

I bought this Audew almost 3 years ago. I check it every 6 months and it holds a charge very well and is usually still at 99%- 100% . I have helped others with it and it's worked great and cranks a dead battery over quickly. Whatever you buy I'd wait until Black Friday when most things are on sale.

I just noticed Amazon now has them for $59.00 with the instant coupon.

It must be and I didn't notice the name until now. It looked like the one I bought and I never looked at the name?‍♂....Good catch! On the Audew website there's a link to purchase on Amazon which brings you to the one I linked from Andeman. lol

Holy crap....2000-3000 amp jump starters for less than $100! I'm in!!!!
Thanks for sharing these links. I can't believe I missed including these in my go-to/must-have offroad carry list. I was in the middle of the desert yesterday and was scared to turn off my truck in case it didn't want to start up again, hence made a reminder to order one. :)
