So, I just spent the weekend (yup, pretty much all day Saturday and Sunday) wiring up a distribution box and LED spots above the hood for off-roading. I tried to cut into the factory harness as little as possible (so far having absolutely 0 cuts into stock harnesses), and the final piece of the puzzle was to put in a fuse-tap to power the Lightforce switch and main relay for the distribution box.

According to the manual, the following fuses (rating) are unused spares. However, it doesn't actually tell you how they're powered (always on, accessory only, etc). I'd love to have one that was on a timer similar to what the interior lighting is (15 minutes after poweroff?) but again, lack of information isn't helpful.

Aside from the two I noted below, does anyone else have info on what ones are powered in what way?

#2 (7.5A)
#4 (5A)
#6 (10A) - Micro3 with 7
#7 (10A) - Micro3 with 6
#10 (5A) - Micro3 with 11
#11 (5A) - Micro3 with 10
#16 (15A) - Seems to be always HOT per my testing, it went 4+ hours without turning off
#17 (5A) - Micro3 with 18 (used)
#20 (7.5A) - Micro3 with 19 (used)
#22 (5A) - Micro3 with 21 (used)
#26 (30A)
#27 (30A)
#29 (30A)
#30 (30A)
#31 (15A)
#35 (5A)
#37 (20A) - Accessory Ignition power controlled.

Sorry up front if this is a dumb question but I am not familiar with wiring accessories. I looked at my passenger fuse box and saw that there is a 20A fuse in #37. Since this is a spare position, would I only use that fuse in the top position of a fuse tap and leave the bottom position empty? The plan is to wire the Trigger 4 plus or six shooting to a fuse that isnt constantly drawing power.

That depends more on the fuse-tap you're using. Generally I pull the fuse I'm using and put it in the fuse tap along with a much lower amp fuse (5 or 10) along side it.

Fwiw I wired mine directly to the battery and with our stock AGL batteries, this has been zero issue. I did this primarily so that I can turn lights on from the rooftop tent with my phone if lighting around the truck is ever needed. I havenā€™t tested the constant draw but Iā€™m pretty sure itā€™ll never be an issue unless your truck sits for weeks on end without being driven.

Easy way to find out is to put volt-ohm meter leads or a simple circuit tester in the contacts. Check with ignition in ACC or ON, then turn ignition OFF. You will have no power immediate ly, or power for ~10-12 min. or continuous You still wouldn't know what capacity the circuit is rated for though. Probably safe for a 3-5A USB charger, but I wouldn't run a 20A tent heater.

Nah - you're wrong.

Any fused circuit in the fuse box in your vehicle will have its rating listed as well - again this is listed all in the first post as I was trying to figure this out.
