Read this in the towing section of the 2019 manual:
"Reduce the stipulated maximum permitted gross
combination mass by 10% for every additional 1,000 ft
(300 m) in high altitude regions above 1,000 ft
(300 m)."
Spread sheet shows I can't (shouldn't ?) tow a trailer over the Eisenhower Tunnel?

Things are even more startling if one uses 10% of GCVWR instead of using 10% of tow weight.

And of course you wouldn't want to exceed max allowable speed:
"Do not exceed 62 mph (100 km/h) even if a country
allows higher speeds under certain conditions."
Am I misinterpreting something here?

There's been discussion before. My personal opinion is that it's another copy/paste error that doesn't apply to the turbocharged engine in the domestic ranger. But, the manual says what the manual says, and it's not one of the things that's been corrected in later versions.

But, for what it's worth, the SAE J2807 tow test (which, presumably, is how the ranger's rating was determined) is done at 3500ft max elevation...

My search skills aren't the best, but I did look... do you recall the thread(s)?

no. don't worry, there's not much actual content, just rampant speculation. :D my summary above is about the sum of it; the manual doesn't pass the sniff test, but there's no other word from ford.
