Someone 'splain this one to me. 2023 XLT, which originally came with Halogens, I upgraded to OEM Lariat LED's, did the appropriate changes in Forscan that is posted here, along with Bambi mode, everything worked great...till yesterday.

I have to believe this is weather/temperature related? They let us off work early yesterday It's in the single digits here in Tulsa currently and yesterday we had a lot of mixed snow, sleet, penguins and ice, so maybe a sensor was covered or something, but as I was leaving the parking lot, I hit the fog switch, and nothing. Then I noticed the icon for auto headlights wasn't lit on the dash. I turned the headlight dial to "on" and the icon appeared, hit the fog, it appeared. When I got home, I pulled into the garage, put the headlight dial back to auto, and everything worked like normal. Same thing this morning, turned the truck on, lights worked in auto, pulled out into the weather, nothing, till I switched it to "on".

like the person above said its to bright for the headlights so it will show its off but they will be on.

my current 17 f150 and my past 22 ranger would do this. first the headlight is on when driving buuut it wont show it being on the dash. my f150 will also do this with the fog lights if it deems it being to bright outside.

example. i drive my truck a lot in the drl mode so it shows the marker lights that are on my truck well if my fogs lights were on when i had the headlights on and i turn the dial to the drl option it will show my fog lights are not on but if you get out the vehicle they will be on.

Too bright outside for the headlights to be on?
That's what I was initially thinking, but isn't the "auto" icon still lit on the dash regardless? Also, whether the lights are on or not, shouldn't the fogs still work with Bambi mode activated?

Maybe I'm just over thinking lol.

I never use auto on because I rarely drive at night and when I do I'm just use to turning on my headlights. As far as the fogs I would think they'd still work but it could be those darn Gremlins again.

I never physically stopped and stepped out and looked to see if they were on or not so you're probably correct

Didn't notice...because it was too bright out ? lol.

I am sooo over thinking this lol.
Easy to do after you put all that work in getting the new headlights setup, you instantly assume you messed something up or it broke already haha

I thing the ones above are on the right track. The only way to have DRLs, in the US anyway, is to have the switch in Auto. Canada has different DRL rules.

With the headlight switch in Auto, and it being too bright outside, there will be no indication on the dash. But, your DRLs will be on without your parking/tail lights. You can make a change in Forscan to include your parking/tail lights with the DRLs.

Once the outside light is low enough, the headlights will come on. An indicator will then light on the dash. If the indicator has a small A in it, means that auto high beam is active. By toggling high beams on and off, you can cycle this off and back on again. When high beams are on a second blue high beam indicator will light in the dash.

As far as the fog lights go, I'm not quite sure of all the settings involved. I believe there is a setting in the dash menus to remember the fog setting when the lights come on, or reset to off when the ignition is cycled. They then turn off when the high beams are activated, unless Bambi Mode is turned on.

On my own XLT I have replaced my halogen headlights with Morimoto clones. I also have my fogs set as my DRLs, as well as the headlight ones. and include my parking/taillights also. I like to have my taillights on with my DRLs for visibility reasons especially when. Towing my TT.

Your employer let your lights off work early like you.
