After my oil changes, it always takes awhile for the oil life monitor to reset. Now after only 800 miles, it says I need an oil change. Is there some king of manual reset?

Uhh, you always have to reset the oil life through the steering wheel buttons after every change. Are you talking about that or the Fordpass app?

Thanks. I’ll reset tonight. It’s always taken a little time, but always reset itself. I just figured since it always had, it was an automatic function. I never realized it has a manual option because I’ve never had to do it. Thanks.

How often do you change your oil?

Our trucks may be "smart", but their not smart enough to know you've changed their oil !!!
Ya gotta press a few buttons to let em know.

Thought it was time for a change, you know, to show the real "Me"....
Aside from the purple pants, it's a very close representation....

My truck must be a MENSA truck because I’ve never had to do a manual reset. I change it after every major trip, and right before if it’s awhile between trips. So typically, about 2500 miles if between trips, and 5000 to 5500 if it’s right after a trip. The last two trips were so close together, I did not change it before this trip. So far this trip has been 600 of the 800 miles since last trip. We travel a lot with the truck and trailer. We have 115 nights and 10,100 miles on the trailer in 16,000 miles worth of trips. This is the start of our fourth major trip with this new truck, August ‘21 and trailer, October ‘21. The truck has 20,600 miles on it.

My dealer resets mine after an oil change. I have 91% life (oil) left. :sunglasses:

I’ve always done it. I’ve never done a manual reset. The dealer has never done it. This is the first time I’ve gotten the message.
