Notice to Turn off Ignition to Save Battery

I've been getting the white window warning me to shut off the ignition when I enter the cab of my '19 Lariat. After approx. two weeks, I broke out my volt meter and got under 12 v when the truck is off. I know, a little low. Started the truck and checked while running and the alternator is working fine. Battery shows 14 and change while running. I have a charger on it now but I may be inclined to buy a battery just in case.
Besides a motorcraft, any good batteries out there? I haven't had to buy one in a while, except for a deep cycle for my trolling motor.

There's several good ones out there and here's a couple threads on batteries you can look though. I've always liked Interstate batteries and Costco will always replace them without pro-rating them.

The trigger voltage for that message is around 11.5 Volts

Costco has changed their warranty. It is prorated now for 36 months. So, no more free replacement there. I went with the Walmart battery for my Lariat. 4 years, free replacement.

Well that stinks! They must of caught on that people were bringing them back before the 3rd year just to get a newer one. They don't test them there so it was easy to do, not that I would know first hand.

I had this problem for a while, and was about to get a new battery but then saw a post on resetting the BMS. I did that a few months ago and haven't gotten the error since.....knock on wood. So if you want to try that first, it's quick and could save you some cash for now. The procedure is turn the key on, flash the brights 5x and then push the brake all the way down 5x. A few seconds later, the battery icon will flash.

Isn't that for when you replace the battery? What happens if you do that without having a new battery in there?

I think so, but so far for me, the message hasn't come back and I haven't had any problems.

Thanks guys, just swapped out the Walmart H7 and it's back to normal.

I'm getting ready to replace mine with a 4 year Walmart everstart h6 agm $179.00

I replaced mine with an Interstate battery. Have had good luck with them over the years.
