No Cobb Accessport for Ranger

Hey everybody,

I spoke with a local tuner who didn't have anything for my Ranger since they use Cobb for their Ecoboost tuning. I reached out to Cobb this morning who confirmed they have no plans to offer an Accessport that works with our trucks.

Just wanted to pass it along if anyone was waiting. The other options discussed on this site will have to do for now!

Phil, Cobb is big into tuning Subaru's and has done some Ford's. Their device is called an accessport. Had their tunes on my Forester and it was good.

Exactly. To piggyback, Cobb supports the Ecoboost Mustang, Focus RS, Focus ST, And Ford F-150/Raptor but won't support the Ranger. Figured it was worth sharing of anyone was waiting.

Well...learn something new every day. Gusee my point was to identify the target audience and maybe elaborate a bit. Suspected Cobb was a tuner, but first I heard of them...

Bet he is speaking of the OBDII port.

I’ve been asking Cobb for 3.5years if they’ll have an AP for the Ranger. Always get ignored. I’ve always had APs for my Subarus and I’m still annoyed there’s no Ranger support.

Cobb does tuning and products Ford, Subaru, Mitsubishi, Porsche, Nissan and a few others. Big in the car world. They make a stuff for the Raptor, STs and F150s.

I emailed them when I got my Ranger in Dec.

"At this time we have no plans to make a Ranger Accesport."

Even though they offer it for 3 other versions of the 2.3.

I was interested due to the Protune support. If I'm gonna tune this thing I would prefer a custom tune to my vehicle done on a dyno. Not some OTS tune that "should work."

I too emailed them and got the same response. I mean they offer one for a 2.3EB crate motor but not a truck selling 100s of thousands... Too bad. Had one in my Mazda and would choose no other option if it were available.

Any shop with HPtuners should be able to write a tune, the MVPI2 has supported the Ranger for a while.
