New Ranger Purchase

When they parked my 2019 next to the new 2024 It thought is was a 150. Then they parked a 150 next to the 2024 it almost looked like a 150. I should have taken a picture. It is definitely a whole different animal.

That was the reason for coming back out with it in 2019 to have a smaller truck and now Ford is going to bastardize it into a F150 and ruin it.

Here are some crappy pictures of the truck. So far I love it. Cant figure out the instructed cluster yet. One thing I HATE are the head rests. I cant seem to get comfortable with them. My 2019 had adjustable ones. I wonder if the old adjustable ones will fit.

The design goal (as I understand it) was to make it basically look like a mini F-150 - if that is indeed true, it appears they satisfied that goal. I am warming to it a bit, but I still like the looks of the 5G better. I would imagine the 5Gs have better visibility as well since the hood isn't as tall.

This is hilarious. I just got an email from BAK of RealTruck on the issue with the tonneau cover gasket.

Very sad and too often happens today. Can anything be trimmed so it sits flush?

They redesigned the cover for 2024 and to save a nickle they left off the finishing caps. The problem is Realtruck has 50+ company's under there umbrella and the don't give crap about there products or customer service. I ordered some Husky mats and they are out of stock, you think they would tell you that. Another RealTruck co. Before I order any other stuff for the truck I will make sure its not for them and I am going to Social Media the crap out of them for ever.

That's too bad. I went to social media on a smart watch company that didn't issue the refund they guaranteed. It took several weeks but I finally got the refund for everything. I haunted their IG and FB pages relentlessly and it worked. I did publicly say they finally honored the refund policy in the end to be fair. Hope you eventually get something done that is to your satisfaction.

Update on the new Ranger.
So far I love it. Getting used to the new screen and features has been tough.
A couple of things I don't like.
The rear view camera sucks compared to the 2019.
The headrests are horrible, you cant adjust the tilt on them.
The lane centering is a PIA so it's off.
Doesn't get the mileage the 2019 got.
But
The AEB works, yesterday this car stopped short in front of me and I got 2 beeps on the warning screen and the truck slammed on the brakes. I mean hard. so that works.
So so far so good.
Put a $22 cover on the back seat and it's perfect.
I put a BAKFlip MX4 cover on the bed and it may be coming off. The rail rubber seal on the cab end is unfinished and sticks up. I looked at some pictures of other BAKFlip MX4's and there is a trim piece that finishes the seal. I have a call into Real Truck to see what they are going to do.

Funny enough, we upgraded our 2016 Pilot to the new chassis 2023 Pilot for my wife when they came out. The backup camera was a major downgrade as well. The lane assist is another that doesn't work as well as the 2016 either.

While loosing vtec and feeling slower the new one gets at best the same mpg as the 2016 and that Pilot was lifted with a cargo basket on it full time along with Ridge Grapplers vs the lighter Toyo AT3 we have on the new one. The new one isn't lifted and we only put the basket on for certain road trips.

I still like it but we also miss the interior DVD system the 2016 had for our kids on road trips. Have to spend over $100k on a SUV now to get rear seat screens. I just need to make that Mercedes Benz money I guess lol

Here is another good one from RealTruck. I ordered the Husky mats from Husky a RealTruck CO.
In the 29th of December. So its kept saying pending fulfillment to today. I decided to cancel them and see if my 2019 mats would fit( I have a new unopened pair of WeatherTech®, still in the box.
So I canceled them. Got an an email that said pending cancellation and not to purchase another brand before I receive the cancellation notice. Chatted with an agent today. Got back "
Cancellations team will reach out to you in 2-3 business days with further assistance by email with the cancellation/refund status. Is there anything else I can help you with today?"
This has to be the worst group of company's I have ever dealt with. I will never buy any of there products.
