Lithium ion batteries have a limited number of charge cycles before they degrade. In the old days it was easy to just replace the battery, but with current phone design trends it's a PITA. Personally, reaching the point that a battery no longer makes it through a day is what usually pushes me to get s new phone.
Cool...where did you find the download for 13? My phones shows IOS is up to date at 12.3.1.kinda neat. I downloaded the dev beta but the public beta is now open. Haven’t played around with it too much. This is just a secondary screen that you can keep open that has a few widgets (map, directions, player)

Is the beta version running smoothly? I stopped doing iOS betas since one of them was horrible a few years back, and I absolutely need my iPhone for business purposes.
I've had random reboots and some hiccups. I just use it for personal use.
I think he means for the split screen. Supposedly once Google and Waze update their apps for iOS13 (most likely not until it launches) they will be available on the split screen as well.
Ok I enrolled and install beta 13 profile, restarted. But when I look into "about", it still shows 12.3.1? What did I miss?
Nope! Each cycle eats away at the battery, but a shallow cycle has much less impact. If you can get 500 full cycles out of a battery, you might get 2500 shallow cycles. But if you're plugging it in 10 times a day? Also, heat is a really bad thing for batteries (throwing a phone in that top tray in the sun is like asking it to die) so plugging it in and running the CPU isn't a great thing for longevity.
