Below are the specs of the camper and weight as well as driving modes with mpg.
-Toy hauler weight empty 3180lbs
-Weight loafed 4200 plus or minus 50lbs.
-Tongue weight 510lbs
-Weight in the truck cab with me, wife, pig, gear and Grom. 725lbs
On the way from MD to Natural Bridge VA (about 200 miles) tow haul mode 70% of the time. Planning stops way ahead with very gentle acceleration. 11.4mpg average. I usually stayed between 55-65 on the highways.
-On the return trip, same driving style only it was windy, 30mph gusts so I went a little slower and also kept it in normal drive mode about 70% of the time and averaged 12.4.
I liked how it drove in tow-haul mode. Less gear hunting and better engine breaking but never went into 10th gear and obviously shifted at higher rpms even in gentle acceleration.
I did forget to mention that I topped off with Shell 93 twice.

Ha. Ya, the Grom is pretty much a 3/4 scale street legal bike. The little 9.5hp bike can get me to 72mph though. (Full tuck and downhill) :D
My wife has loved pigs ever since she was a fetus, so I told her we can fulfill her life-long dream of getting a pig once we are settled. :).
I’ve heard every hog-hunting and bacon joke and no we are not vegetarians. :)

Is that the Natural Bridge KOA? Have stayed there briefly a couple times.
Close, it’s the Lexington/Blueridge KOA. I’ve also stayed at the Natural Bridge KOA, which is nicer and I like a lot more. :)

Just made reservations at Natural Bridge for 1 night stop over on our way to FL later this month. Enjoy the truck and trailer!

Did you use tow mirrors? How wide is that trailer?

I am going to pick up my trailer next week. It will be empty coming home (about 2300 pounds) so a good test of the aerodynamics effects and light loading.. Since it will be my first significant tow, will probably drive slowly, at least for a while. Trip home will be about 900 miles.

Have to ask, did you do a controlled panic stop?

I towed a very similar load in tow haul mode with my truck, (FX4 XLT) and averaged a bit higher than that (barely) over about 750 miles or so.

I think it was 13.6 or something.
