Just got my new battery tester. Not sure if the factory CCA is visible on the battery. What is the stock CCA on a factory battery for '21 XLT? I am seeing 760 in most battery websites.

For a 2021 Ranger the XLT and lower have a 610 760 CCA and a 760 950 CA rating. Lariats have a 800 CCA and a 1000 CA rating.

that helps, thanks!
I think I may have bad info on the XLT and lower model batteries. Can you look in your owner's manual for the battery part numbers so I can double check? The 2019 non-Lariat models show a BAGM-48H6-610 battery. I can't seem to find that battery on the net. In the link that I provided it shows a BXT rather than a BAG battery. So the part numbers shown in your manual may be updated to BAGM-48H6-760. Could you let me know?

Ok, I found the part number for 2021 XLT. Specs are found at this link:

Some confusion- I see
The service manuals call for a 720 CCA H-6 in the XL / XLT and 800 CCA H-7 for the Lariat
It appears that the online parts show the XL / XLT getting bumped up to 760 CCA

If buying out of pocket and warranty not limiting you - just get the 800 CCA

So which number do you punch into your battery tester, the CCA or the CA?
You should be able to select either CCA or CA on the tester. I have a Topdon BT100 that can measure either rating. One is cold cranking amps and the other is cranking amps.

To add to the confusion, the 2019 owner's manual shows a 610 CCA rating for the XL/XLT.

The Forscan - entry is a generic entry- it is not a exact battery size reading. I can’t remember what options Forscan has, so you select the closest to to battery that is installed.
I should point out - if you change the. Battery size with Forscan - it will generate a new date of install on the battery.

And for me, after running the "Repair Mode" again over the weekend is that my voltages are down to 14.3/14.4 at startup, it goes down to 14.2-14.0 somewhat shortly after. Then, when the temps go up, I'm even seeing 13.9 and even down to 13.7. Auto stop/start seems to be back to normal and works like it did when the truck was new. Checking CCAs each morning, they are higher. If this continues, I'll be happy with the SOC at 90%. If it seems like it's degrading, I'll consider 95%.

NOCO swears that the Genius 5 runs the same Repair Mode every time and didn't seem to have an explanation for why I saw different voltages during the second run.
Replying to myself in true bad internet forum fashion....

Having my SOC at 90% seemed to work fine but it really seemed like the battery capacity, Auto Stop/Start and CCA readings in the morning slowly degraded. So, I up'd it to 95% on this last Sunday (June 4th). Also on Sunday, I turned down the timeout for the Power Ports to 30 minutes and after that they would turn off immediately when I open the door after shutdown, yikes, what have I done? I then put it back to 75 minutes (default) and nothing changed. I did another forscan jaunt and confirmed that the asbuilt's were changing when I changed the standard ones. You might have seen my other post:

https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/power-ports-turn-off-when-opening-the-door.25369/

Well, I can say that as of Wednesday morning (June 7th or 3 days after mucking with it) my power ports now stay on after shutting off the truck and opening the door. I now have it set to 30 minutes again. Also note that Auto Stop/Start started working again this afternoon and I haven't done another NOCO repair mode. CCA is up this morning and this afternoon. So, I'm tempted to say that 95% is great and seems to improve battery function.

I think I also learned that the second canary in the coal mine might just be those power ports. They will stay on with the radio when you shut off the truck but they would turn off immediately when I opened the door just like the radio. So maybe this is a good early warning sign for anyone with Auto Stop/Start disabled but BMS still enabled as a signal that things are degrading.

Well, It has been 6 months since I installed the Batteryminder onboard Desulfator. Here are the initial reading and the reading 6 months later.
Both with a State of Rest of 5 Hours

- Initial check - After full Battery Charge
- 6 Month check - Simply driving the truck and waiting 5 hours after shutting it down

Ford Battery Rated at 760 CCA

Initial

Voltage = 12.37
Internal Resistance = 5.19 mOhm
CCA = 485.7

6 Months Later (Newer Battery Tester)
State of Health = 100%
State of Charge = 100%
Voltage = 12.66
Internal Resistance = 3.06 mOhm
CCA = 980

The results speaks for themselves.
