I'd get the Maverick. They seem to be relatively trouble-free. I wouldn't get a hybrid though, due to the cost of replacing the battery. Unless you're going to lease it, then it won't matter.
The high voltage battery has an 8 year warranty so I really don’t see it as an issue. Some may but I don’t. I would worry more about the gas engine and transmission of a non hybrid. Just saying either one of those are way more expensive than the battery at 2200 bucks. It’s not a large pure EV battery that’s 10k plus. I really do understand the concern and hesitancy.

Get the Maverick, we’re enjoying our hybrid Maverick and 38.9 mpg real world after 19500 miles. It’s well planted and corners better than my Ranger. I have both Ranger and Maverick so just like OP I can enjoy 2 sets of options.

Is that 38.9 Local or highway mpg?

Thanks for the information Andy. I am 99% sure I am going that route.

You are in California so your mileage will be better than I can get here in Oregon with our crappy gas and colder weather. Still it will be a win for me.

I would keep the Taco but do I really need three vehicles and a motorcycle? Registration, tags and insurance would be a killer and actually is now days even with a clean record. A couple more pictures I took last fall.

If mileage is your primary point than the Maverick is clearly your choice.
Just remember the battery is a 8 year warranty(replacing is costly) and at this point lithium batteries need a major breakthrough of which they are working on 10 different types of solutions.

If you plan on doing various activities other than daily driver then the Ranger is your choice.
