Local Line X shop in Reno quoted $600 for spray in bed liner for a 5' box. Seems crazy expensive.

I should mention the price was 450 plus 150 for UV protection. Same shop just over a year ago quoted me 450 plus 50 for a 6'9" bed on a GMC Sierra 2500, seems like someone trying to cut themselves a fat hog at Line X of Reno.

Was just quoted $499 for their standard and $599 for their premium. Went with the premium and love it other than the decal they stuck in the bed that fell right off but left a cement like adhesive on the side of the bed I canā€™t for the life of me get off.

Factory Tough-Bed is $495. So in that respect I guess it's not too expensive in comparison.

Do you need the UV protection?

Had mine for 499 canadian. Not totaly sure but I know for sure it was 100 $ less than the factory sprayed liner. This was the price my dealer could make me whan I bought the truck.
For the uv thing remember this line x has a lifetime waranty.I do have a tonneau cover so line x dont see the sun very often ... I dont know if I have the uv protection I have the 6' bed.

Labor rates are always a shock. Had a clear bra put on for $880. I accept the fact it took them maybe 4 hours in total and I assume $100/hr labor rate and cost of material. Then I account for local state B&O tax and lease cost on their shop building + cost of insurances and 10% sales tax etc. Then I realized they gainfully employ ~20 people in my local city at wages better than Min and Iā€™m fine with the price.

If this was being done by a dude in his home garage I would expect to pay way less but alas, I couldnā€™t find ā€œthat dudeā€.

I was quoted $475 for basic Line-X spray and $130 more for premium ($605). Since I am going to have a tonneau cover, I am selecting basic spray. I will get it this coming Friday, April 3rd. Can't wait!

I paid $475 for my 5' Ranger -- which interestingly enough was exactly what I paid for my 2005 XLT 8' bed back in 2006!! This was in Florida in Feb 2020...

Finding the same liner option at Line X dealers over the hill in California for 100-175 less than here in Reno. So much for buying local, guess Line X Reno taking advantage of no competition here in Reno? Irritating.
