Looks great! That was one of my first mod but after constant retouching due to chips from road rash, it was either go with (1) custom powder coat, (2) buy Ford's powder coated hooks, or (3) switch up to RC tow hook to shackle mod...which is what I ended with...

I painted mine blue to match the truck. Used Rustoleum.

Are the hooks easily removable for painting? Or did you mask off?

Easy to remove, 4 bolts.
Let the paint fully dry like days if not a week. The rubber boot is a 2 shot part with flexible rubber and hard plastic. I gouged my fresh paint upon reinstall.

As mentioned, they're not hard to remove. The rubber boots pull right off and there's two bolts on each hook. It's possible to remove the boots and mask them off but realistically it's probably easier to remove them and paint them off the truck.

I think I am going to get mine powder coated. Had a local guy quote me $20 to do it.
