Just wondering if someone would know why.
Just spent 15 mins using my truck as a truck, pulling in a Kia into the driveway.
Daughter got home, went to backup, would not, moved forwards
then tried again to backup, no go.
Front right spins, left does not.
First I thought trany but the right wheel turns, so stuck caliper??? Or broken drive shaft?
What's your guess.

My guess is a frozen caliper - that would be the first place to look, IMO.

If it was a broken drive shaft you'd know, it would play whack a mole with everything.

Sounds a lot like a frozen caliper. Jack it up and see if it's locked.

It's not moving, when I pulled the car back, on snow, it was obvious.

Stuck caliper or melted wheel bearing. If they get bad enough enough they can cause the wheel to not turn. Also checking parking break cable, could be that’s it’s not fully released or the cable has snapped leaving the brake on.

Good try, I threw snow on both back wheels, it did not melt.
Previous experience with this POS!

I had a Camaro once that did something similar. It turned out that I had a collapsed brake line (that’s what the mechanic said) going to the front brakes. He replaced the brake line going to the caliper and I never had the problem again. Just a thought.

Had the same problem with my Fusion. Internal collapse of the brake line. It would bleed fine but fluid would not flow back to fully release the pad. Went through pads on the back quicker than the front. Never fully locked up though.

i was going to say frozen parking brake not letting go on that wheel but sounds like you have already ruled that out. any chance someone ran over something that wedged between the tire / wheel and another part of the car stopping the wheel from moving? if you put the beans too it does the right wheel turn at all ?

So, the Killed In Action car......
Needs new front rotors, calipers, pads & something in back.
The back, not sure but was fixed last yr with 1 yr warranty.
Daughter is not happy...
I told her not to buy a KIA, oh well.
