Is anyone else missing the center tie-downs?

I was looking through another thread and noticed every truck seems to have center tie-downs. Mine does not. I really could have used them several times already too.

I don't know it they weren't on to begin with, or maybe Line-X took them off and never put them back on, but I'm missing both sides so maybe it was an option?

Pictured here (apologies if you don't like me stealing your pic @RangerRaptor).

There were a few posts on this a while back, but yeah essentially to save a few bucks. Some have fought with the dealership and gotten theirs free of charge....

I already starting thinking of doing that. My local dealer has been really good so far.

What's worse is they went from $6.50 to almost $30, each. Then the screws are almost $4 ea. Pretty sure that pre-dates the pandemic.

Unbelievable, its like a dollar part in the hardware store. I just saw the prices for the rear seat-delete parts have also gone through the roof.

Don't know when I put those two on my list, but was around $250 at that time. It's understandable why some here made their own.

This has been kicked around on other threads of these forums. The PVT Manager, Roger B did a Material Cost Reduction action by deleting the center tiedowns He got his bonus and promptly retired so he did not face and customer feedback of dissatisfaction/Irritation... Your choices are limited...

Purchase two tiedowns
Make the Dealer purchase them
Cobble up something yourself
Live with no center tie downs.
Complain to Ford Customer Care and if enough folks do, then maybe they will rethink but unlikely

Huh amazing...thanks for the inside scoop. Info like this is why I always join a forum of whatever vehicle I currently own.

If I don't get em for free from the dealer I'll probably buy an aftermarket rail system. My old Tacoma had a nice one with sliding tie-downs.
