Installed chrome mirror covers on my XLT

Do the chrome mirror covers glue to the factory installed mirror covers or do the factory mirror covers need to be first removed? Thanks

I got mine and installed them. There is double sided tape pre-applied. I have an XLT, and the chrome caps mount directly over the top of the black plastic mirror. I didn't have to remove anything.

JoeG: Thank you. I will get a pair using the link above and try them. My local Ford dealer told me that the Lariat chrome mirror covers will not fix the XLTs.

Your dealer is correct. The Lariat mirrors have turn signals in them so they are slightly different.

The ebay ones that I bought are chromed plastic, like the door handles and such if you bought the Ford chrome appearance package. AFAIK, only the bumpers and exhaust tip are chromed steel (if you bought the Ford chrome appearance package).

I ordered these chrome mirror covers from the E-bay seller above 10 days ago. Just got a note back from seller that due to Chinese Holiday (perhaps also Coronavirus), to expect shipment between Feb 28-Mar 10.

Since I have the black appearance package I sure would like it if these mirror covers were available in gloss black. Also gloss black pieces to cover the matte black strips on the doors at the b-pillar and also to cover/replace the rear door trim panel applique.
