Ford unveils new F-150 Raptor R pickup with 700 horsepower

"Supercharged 5.2-liter V-8 engine that produces 700 horsepower and 640 foot-pounds of torque."

"The truck will start at $109,145, including destination and delivery charges."

"Ford assures us there will be no supply issues, and there will be plenty of F-150 Raptor R trucks for everyone who wants one."

Ok, I'm lying about that last part.

Just watched the release video. Looks fun for sure. Wonder what the dealer mark up will be on one.......

I think the 2023 Corvette starts at $106,649. I bet they never expected to come in $2500 cheaper than an F150.

Surprised that the published power figures come in below the Ram TRX.

700 vs 702 and 640ft lb vs 650.

Event though the Raptor may be faster, marketing usually wants the bragging rights.

Expect to see the TRX get a mild bump in specs, probably from a small programming change.

That’s when Ford says if you want more power use our performance tune and get another 75 HP out of it!

Wow did not realize they were that close. You'd think Ford marketing would have been screaming at the top of their lungs DO SOMETHING! JUST GIVE ME 3 MORE HP!

On the other hand maybe that did happen and still 700 is all they could muster, and that includes all engineers at Ford getting on their knees at their bedsides at night and praying it passes emissions.

too bad the thing weve been clamoring for so long is priced out of most peoples range, and thats just at the mythical msrp.

Wouldve loved to see it as an addon package and on lower trims.

Probably has more to do with CAFE and not owning the top spot. Penalties for that title!

That power plant in a 6000# truck with a smaller puller than on the GT500. I can't imagine what all Ford is going to have to do to keep that thing cool. IIRC the GT500 has 6-7 heat exhangers. I suppose there is a bunch more real estate to work with on a truck than a sports car.

2 HP less, but also lighter than a TRX by ~400lbs. I'll take that.

No kidding. Need to find an under hood shot now. Probably has a 5 inch thick radiator.
