Oh I got it off of there. A filter wrench would have definitely helped. It's quite an awkward reach to get in there with 2 hands. I loosened it a bit by laying on the ground and reaching one hand up around the frame and twisting. Definitely not a fun experience.

Huh ? Op is trying to remove it ....................... Not install. Besides which, overtighten it and mess up the gasket ? Ok for you .............

Which is totally wrong. Over tightening the oil filter is not smart. Just as bad as not smearing oil on the gasket before installing. Otoh, some people are born stupid, others practice in front of a mirror.
