KBMJ 4926...CB...from 1976. I had bought a Midland radio if I remember correctly, and it came with a registration form.
How on Earth I still remember that is beyond me.

Best radio I ever had was when I was trucking. Galaxy 88.

I was an owner-operator long haul , coast to coast Bed Bugger all through the 1990's
I had the Galaxy 88 with an upgraded sound board paired with a Road King 56 mic, single Wilson antenna.....
I would get complements almost daily on
the clarity ,and asked what I was using...

Yep.
Same setup.
At the time it was really hard to beat the RK 56 mic and a Wilson antenna. Money well spent, I think.

I had a base station in my house as a kid with a 15' antenna on the 2 story. Fun times.

I recently got interested in gmrs and bought a couple BAOFENG UV-5R and went down the rabbit hole. Still circling the rabbit hole.

before a strong thunderstorm decided to rearrange my setup an I had a base station with a imax 2000 and a99 with radials, scanner cone, vhf antenna. the base was about 35 feet up. So the Imax was about as tall as one could go without getting into red tape. It was fun for cold winter days and sleepless nights. talked to a few locals, and some dx folks on SSB. The setup had seen lots of storms so i was not too worried. but about 3am I remember thunder, big lighting flash and then a creaking metallic sound followed by a hefty thud. I knew that was the end of my antennas. two survived one turned into little fiberglass and wire shards. I never put it back up. too much noise in my area. Something I never could remedy would put 5-7 s units of interference in my radios receive for hours at a time. it was really aggravating. so after the storm and the noise i said screw it. the remaining stuff is now collecting dust in my closet.

a few years ago was a pretty active forum called cbtricks. lots of the folks from it would get on ssb and talk. sadly i seems to have closed down. I think the owner died.
