I've tickled 100 before. It was like any other truck I have owned smooth. Hit 112 in my wife's 17 explorer once, hood popped up good thing the secondary latch held.

I had a GPS verified 138 in my last diesel in Montana. Semis were doing 100, seemed like a smart thing to do. And that was very smooth with more wonderful turbo sounds.

I try not to push the envelope in the Ranger. It's quick but not fast and is after all a truck that is capable of rolling over 19 times if gotten out of control at speeds. Not real smart to push it in a 4x4 truck.

When I want to go fast I drive this. It's supercharged and is fast. I've been a bad boy a time or two on the street and luckily survived and not ended up in jail.
I like to go to the track though. It runs mid 10's in the high 130's mph consistently in the quarter. Not the fastest car in the world but fast enough to get my heart beating.

A little over 100 just to see what the cutoff was.

Clocked by one of my engineers on a radar gun...Speedo was useless....

Best,

No cameras allowd on any Ford property at that time.

Best,
Phil
Speaking of “SHO”s, loosely; I had a 92 SHO Taurus with the Yamaha motor…that was definitely a giggle to drive…and a tad quicker than the Ranger.

Retired for now!
So far, the fastest I have had my Ranger up to is between 60 and 65 MPH. Normally run the speed limit or a little less. With the crazy gas prices, I roll easy in the Ranger. Yup, I know I am in the minority here!

I've gone into 90-100 range but felt so unsafe with the vibrations.
There really shouldn't be any vibration at that speed I would get it checked. I've been 115 and it's still smooth, most likely a rebalance or an alignment will take care of it.

Hmmm, interesting. I might have to speed again next Vegas trip to reconfirm.

Well, did a Italian tune up on the 15 to Vegas. It was smooth around 100. Guess it might be the 15 being poorly maintained and that introduced the vibrations.
