103, and only for a split minute. i had not seen another car for over an hour and it was a flat straight road all the way to the horizon so i put the moose foot on it. felt stable ish but i slowed back to 80 quickly. i expected a limiter to kick on at 99 but it didnt.

85. Needed to pass a string of semi's on I-40 going to Flagstaff last July to a family re-union. The acceleration was smooth and the Ranger was riding and tracking nicely.

Bout as fast as she'll go.....(way past 110)
That's not much fun though.....
It's that LOW end torque that makes the hair stand up on the back of your neck.....lol.
That rear end pop/tire spin when you hit it hard on a 25 mph roll in traffic is what quickly gets peoples attention...;)

Dude!

He's an ex truck driver. I've talked to enough of them to know that they are always the MOST safe drivers.

I've also seen enough of them to know that's bullshit. Including the one who turned right out of the left lane, totalling my Escape, only to ask "didn't you see my blinker?"

Taking road safety advice from a truck driver is like taking gun safety advice from a police officer.
just saying a lot of cops don't know how to use their weapons properly, even federal agents who are supposedly super well trained dont know jack about weapons. The fbi agent doing a desk pop in a classroom full of students comes to mind, ultimately drive safe don't be a dick and stay out of the left lane.

90-95 in the tremor probably, not usually faster than 80-85 anyways. Can easily handle those speeds but definitely gets a bit squirrely up there and it's an off road truck not a racecar... Maybe once I get a tune I'll see how it handles triple digits.

As for how fast 132 ft/sec just while passing, the acceleration (4.9 ft/sec/sec) is what I like, I travel often on 2 lane county roads following behind someone doing 53 in a 55 zone gives me great anxiety, having the very responsive thing under the hood is awesome!

Next thread... how many speeding tickets have you gotten in your Ranger :)
Funny you should ask... I did a road trip to Idaho over the holidays. Lots of long, boring roads with very little traffic. Doing between 90-105 most of the way there. Got pulled over by a sherif in Idaho doing 84 in a 65. He asked if I was in a hurry and I told him no, I just wasn't paying attention. He let me go with a warning. Didn't have the nerve to tell him that was the slowest I drove all day :giggle:

0 I haven't had a ticket in at least 20 years or so, which is kinda surprising since I rarely get passed by anybody going faster than me regardless of what I'm driving/riding.

I have never had a speeding ticket, in the 51 years of driving motorcycles and fast cars, pulled over plenty of times but never have had a citation.
Funny story, Louisville KY, 1998, I pulled onto 265 leaving the Ford Kentucky Truck plant heading North, accelerated to 70 mph moved to the left lane, look in my rear view and a car is coming fast, nowhere to go in the right lane so I accelerate more, car still pushing me, I could see there was a young girl in the front seat so I figured this ruled out police and was just a moron seeing what a 911 Porsche could do, so I down shift to 3rd and jump on it, as I am pulling away, 1 car length, 2 car lengths, 3 car lengths, go over I-71 going much faster than 100 mph the guy behind me turns his in grill flashers on, his daughter in the car, I moved to the shoulder and also showed him how fast a 911 could stop, all the while looking in my rear view to ensure he didn't run into me.
He asked me what my hurry was, I told him I was attempting to get out of the way of a tail gaiter, he let me go........

For sure.

My 16 year old daughter shoots more range rounds per year than the average police officer. She's not only a better shot than most, but I can assure you she's safer than almost all of them.

Just because you do something for a living, that doesn't mean your the best. Matter of fact, it probably means you've become complacent and over confident.
