Heavy Duty's Front Hitch Build

Would you consider purchasing a hitch if I were to start making them?

I'd be interested in one if any are still around or another batch is made. Great idea!

I LIKE IT!
I don't need one so I won't be buying it but I really like what you have there.

Would love to see a pic of the truck with this from a bit further back if you have one. Just want to see how subtle it is. Great work on this! Been interested in this for a while and not seeing anything as decent as this on the market!

You should sell these to DR to sell with their passive snow plows for the Ranger.

Am I too late to the party? Would really like to have one of these, but would need an ACC relocation unit. That is something else I will have to research now.

I think its too late. I sent a PM to him about 2 or 3 months ago. When I didnt get a reply I sent an email to his business that is in his profile and never heard back. Kinda bummed about it. I may try to fab one myself. I'd have to tack weld it together and have a buddy weld it up. I wouldn't trust my weld. Then get powder coated.

Hope you all find this useful. Let me start off by saying that I didn't like the existing front hitch options that are on the market because it keeps the winch too low and will mess with approach angle. So, I decided to make my own that would fit within the bumper, giving the truck an OEM appearance. Although this is right where the adaptive cruise radar module is located, I purchased this truck without adaptive cruise with this hitch in mind.

Remove the bumper, trim, skid plate, tow hooks and air diverter that rests behind the bumper.

Make all the details and weld the hitch up.

Cut the air diverter an inch past where it starts to bend down to make room for the hitch.

Put everything back on using the existing hardware.

Enjoy!

I'm trying to figure out exactly how this works when you want to reply to a specific post. Hopefully I got it. I am very interested in this. But if you stopped making it is there any way to post the specs so we can make it ourselves? I think if you were to post this on Etsy or even Amazon, you would find a higher demand for it.

All, my apologies for being slow with the replies and PM's.

I'm no longer welding steel parts due to contaminating my shop.

I can do a few things. Either materials and parts can be sourced yourself with my attached drawing or I can ship and sell an unwelded kit including all formed and lasered parts, welding & install instructions.

Ok. The drawing is for the centered one, is there a separate for the off centered edition that accommodates APIM equipment.

I don't have a drawing for the offset hitch but all that needs to be done is offset the center tube and gussets to either side of the centerline 4.5"
