Happy Canada Day to you all.

I'm a proud Canadian.
I know our country is going through turmoil with the residential school issue, and as the days go on I expect the news to get worse and worse.
We all mourn the losses.
I feel as a Canadian, we can overcome this and move forward in a positive way.
I don't think cancelling this day, as many cities and towns have this year is the right thing to do. Theres many reasons why I believe this. Why I believe in this country, and why I believe in its people.
Whether you are an indigenous person, an immigrant, or a born and bred on its soil Canadian, we all have a country to love and build.

If you know an indigenous person, let them know you care about their plight, if you dont, try and meet one. They have endured so much, and they are a part of this country as much as anyone else. They are good people.
My ex wife was Cree, and my daughter has status. Her mother attended a residential school as well as many of her family. I'm not blind to there situation. The history of these people is harsh, and Canada will come together to make it right.

BTW Go Montreal!!! kick some ass!!!

I'm not sure I'll ever be able to say 'happy Canada day" anymore.
I'll just leave it at that.

you're not alone in that, and i don't judge anyone who feel different than I.
Your opinion is valid.
Cancel culture is real lately. The bus is full and more people are jumping on board.
I'm not one to erase history, but I am one who believes history should be taught, even if its an uncomfortable subject to some. This history needs to be heard and it needs to be connected to other historical aspects from Canadas past.
in doing so, change happens. people understand what happened and learn from it.
I hope people do reflect on the residential school issue today, but we cant walk away from Canadas culture, history and future either.
we are all still Canadian.

Can't learn if you don't know and understanding is 90% of any battle.

Wait..Canada has problems? In my US mind, Canada is 600 trillion square miles of frozen land inhabited by about a dozen Mounties in red coats…

Have a supplier in Chateauguay so I've spent many weeks up there. Used to stay across river in the city at Hotel De La Montagne. Thursday's used to be a fun place.

Happy Canada Day!

I was once a very proud Canadian, but then I grew up. Now I see a collapsing society on the verge on socialism

My forefathers fought in wars to protect our freedoms against, what the average Canadian is running toward with open arms.

1984 is our future.

We see this here on this side of the border as well.
Sad times for us all, as common sense and common courtesy seem to have taken a permanent vacation.
