I do that sometimes to bring up what gear its in so I can see what it thinks, the RPMs are always 1k lower than I think it should be, I have the Sport Dash ....
dont hit +/- in (S) mode, then it makes you shift until you put it back in (D) learned that the hard way ...

I’m in sport often. I manually shift all the time. I wish it would show that gear counter in sport too but it won’t. I use my tuner for the gear indicator when I need it.

I've never been all that brave playing around with all that. As stated above I discovered this thing by accident. I know its a feature and probably relatively safe, but I don't want to jack up my transmission, I was never a manual transmission person.

I learned something new today, and all that time I'm shifting it back to D then back to S at every stop light, I like driving on Sport mode but I will up shift manually at times when I dont need the truck to stay on a gear too long.......lol

god these trucks are fun to drive, it comes in handy when in 4L low you can keep it to 1st or 2nd pulling people out of a ditch, I found out the hard way, coming on an exit I put it in (S) as normally and it shifts up just fine if you Dont hit the -/+ But I tapped the -/ and it held me in that gear till I almost let the smoke out of the tranny, I dont mind being the test dummy, yes I did see blue smoke behind me.... if anyone will blow a tranny out it will be me
how ever these trucks can handle being airborne 4 foot just fine, I should add to all of my posts "Dont try this shit at home" preformed by a seasoned off roader that has Ruined a lot of good trucks over the years Bahahaha

It does show the gear like (D) if you tap the -/+ But after that you have to shift ...
it dont show it like the normal scale on the left, see the Red 1 next to auto start /stop

Same here wish that gear list would pop up in sport mode and not just drive mode…
You can do that with a tuner? (Gear indicator)… I have a livernoise tuner wonder if it can do that too…I usually use sport mode in auto, but I like knowing what gear I’m in.

Yes, I know that but I would like to have the gear indicator showing in sport auto as well though.

Haven’t seen a way yet, we’ve tried a few times but not recently. Might be worth it to check again.
