I got 4 units from Alibaba and after 3 months of haggling with the sales guy - he finally gave me something that resolved the no-climate fan issue - now it all
works and no more hunting in the dark for the clamte controls, wireless bluetooth, 4G cell, wifi, and hotspot.

Since this pic was taken, I swapped out the shiny trim that came with it for the original - just needed to carefully cut and shape just a bit. The sound is great and the sound shaping with the eq, speed modes, and such really customize the sounds.

now need to plug in my 3d cameras and install my lariet seats.

Wow, you took the plunge and did it? This is pretty cool.

I hope more detailed info comes out from your experience in case the modding bug hits and someone else wants to catapult their cockpit experience to Star Trek levels of bling and function ?

I have 3 of them for sale - ready to install. I would love to see if one works in an S with a radio..

It has the Lariat seat controls - so i dug up a set of fronts from LKQ and will see if it works proper

best thing is the wireless android auto..

Hmm.. Lariat seat controls - as in power adjustments? I'd expect the heat option - Interesting since I wouldn't anticipate any interface beyond the switches on the seats themselves. Memory settings would be a nice upgrade.

How was the install /wiring?

I really like these full Android head units.

I've been putting them in my vehicles for years and one is in my Jeep now.

The first ones I had were a bit sketchy, but all the recent ones I've had have been great.

You need to post a video of the functionality and link it here.

I'm sure lots of folks would be very interested to see it in operation.

This is the one I had in my Grand Cherokee.

It was terrific.

I'd like to see a video of this too.

As far as cameras a really blinged out setup would copy my wife's Honda and the blind spot camera activated by the turn signals although that might be a tall ask.

360° cameras would be very Tesla-esque.

The install is 5 min .. pulling off the trim is a PITA
All the wires and such are plug and play.
I am reading that there is a way to get the factory camera to work.. so once that is resolved the thing is skittles..

It is basically a 14" tablet - you can do what you would do with that - movies, podcast - ihart, amazon music/video. i have a sim that i pay for in there for cell service. you can just teather your phone.

I am loading up the lariat seats today so will see if the controls are working or if I am missing wires and report back.

Holy mackerel that's a big screen! Good job!
So when you lay the truck on its side on a trail, does that make the screen go into landscape mode? ?

Very cool, I've been wanting to do this for a while. My biggest hesitation is I have a lariat with BnO system and don't want to lose anything.

Should have bought a Lariat SCab. Then you would have paid for the B&O system yet received the basic system.

What's the boot time, I hear bad things that it takes forever.

In the early days of Android head units, it could take 30+ seconds to boot.

Now most of them will boot in 10 seconds or less if you've driven the vehicle within the last few days.

Features like backup cameras are available instantly.

With the unit in my Wrangler, it takes around 20 seconds if I haven't driven it in a week or so.

If I've driven it within the last couple of days it's almost instant, and that's with wireless Carplay.
